It's been a while since I've legitimately done something to boost my "hipster credibility" my consistent support for local businesses notwithstanding but how hip is just forgoing 99¢ mass-produced cheeseburgers? The Brighton/Allston neighborhood is home to many local music acts and music halls for them to perform at and what's pretty cool is a few of my friends who happen to work at Urban Outfitters are hitting the stage this Wednesday with their indie noise garage rock outfit. It's going to be an awesome night where I "groove" (with quotation marks) to their beats and brag to a patron or two about how I'm friends with the skinny jeans and espadrille-wearing frontman, surely a wonderful way to boost my stature and earn cred. Afterwards I can head over to the merch table so I can later rock their band tees and judge people who aren't familiar with them, taking pride in the fact that, why yes, I do listen to music you haven't heard of.

Call this sort of support Knives-esque but at least I'm not horribly midtown.
