I haven't gotten a copy yet (but I plan to later), since Horde 2.0 looks fun as hell.
Anyone picked it up today?

So yeah, I did buy the game in full.
The benefits here is that it's one of the only Xbox 360 games to use dedicated servers (so lag is nonexistent). Second, I mentioned Horde 2.0 is fun as hell with a good 5-player party, and it holds true.
One part that worries me, bunch of run-and-shotgun (possibly sawed-off) opponents ruin the fun.

Siiiiiiiigh.
I was so looking forward to this game, but the people I was going to be playing 4 player co-op with in the campaign wound up not having the money to play it. And one of them could not feel like the price was justified. I don't know how I can convince someone to get it if they don't think a new campaign, horde mode 2.0 and that beast mode is worth the money.

I'm renting it for now. Don't have the money to buy it yet. I haven't touched the story yet, 'cuz I still haven't beaten Gears 2's campaign. I'm getting close though... shit is getting real.
I'm at the part in Gears 2 where Marcus an' Dom are infiltrating the Nexus
The game itself is great. Horde is much better, what with currency. This means that you have to buy weapons, but still. You build turrets, barriers, sentry guns, etcetera. Plus the Silverback mech... shame it's only so-so in horde. Costs $12,500 to get, has amazing firepower, doesn't run out of ammo, loses health quickly, costs unholy amounts of money to repair... damn shame. |

Anya: You NEED to play the other Gears games. The story doesn't make any sense if you're not familiar, kinda like Metal Gear Solid.
Also, I beat the campaign last night. The campaign was amazing. I don't cry during media, normally. Toy Story 3 and Gears of War 3 are the only medias that have made me shed tears. My favorite character died like a boss. Gary Jule's Mad World was playing while he died, and that added much impact. Overall, I'm damn impressed with the game. |

| Anya: You NEED to play the second game. It's vital as shit. I didn't want to play the second Gears, only the 3rd, but my bro forced me to play the second. Boy am I glad he did. It helps the story that much more |
