It's an interesting approach. I hope they can work it out to use more than random youtube videos. :p Kind of interesting but probably obvious that human forms stand out the most, with the most detail.

I was somewhat intrigued by this at first. Then I read it was just comparing Youtube video clips that had similar brain stimulation. It's an interesting effect, but a far cry from being able to re-visualize/digitize your dreams or memories.

I remember there was an article last year or earlier that was a similar effect, but with a static image. They were able to recreate letters that a subject was viewing. It wasn't perfect but it wasn't done just by matching stimulation to video "palettes". That impressed me more than this.

It shows that there are consistent patterns acrooss people. It's a very early, statistical experiment. Now theyy have shown that they can pursue it and find more precise methods.
