I love the GT series but then I finally played Forza, and I ended up enjoying that one as well. I need to play more of both, actually.

I may sound like a Sony fan boy right now, but the 360 exclusives sicken me. =/

The only games on the 360 I'd bother playing are Fable 3 (which is also on Steam), and Alan Wake. And I already beat Alan Wake when I hung out with my cursed friend who couldn't get a PS3.

And no. Halo is not a good exclusive. You are not allowed to make that argument. Neither is Gears of War. I have played them. I dislike them.

Naughty dog games alone are enough reason for me to keep my PS3.

But the games that make me love the PS3 are games like Infmous, Ratchet and Clank, little big planet, and Gran Turismo 5. These are all games that are award winning and are great to play. Not to mention the graphics for PS3-exculsive games are absolutely great. It's a pity that most companies create games for the XBox and then port them to Ps3 without updating the graphics to what the PS3 can handle.

Graphics are usually a selling point. That's why so many games had CG cut scenes back in the early PS1 days. Now it's all about actual gameplay visuals, but the same idea still applies. They show off the best features in the trailers to make people want to buy their games.

Graphics will always be part of the equation for video games. Until we have 100% realistic virtual reality. Then all else will be mute.

There is art style, sure, but actual graphics quality is out of the equation. If someone wants to make unquestionably hi-res graphics, they can, even if they have a crummy development system on a bunch of 3 year old computers in a basement somewhere, and are developing for a previous-generation cell phone.

To be honest, if I was one of those gifted people who could do ultra hi-res graphics, I don't think I'd ever stop creating stuff.

I don't know, is 100% realism really the end-all and be-all of graphics? I think there will always be a place for something less "perfect"...
