So, I've been trying to run Winamp v2.91 in Wineskin under Mac OS X 10.7. (I know, I know, I should just use a native program, but I haven't found anything that has all the features I want)

And it generally works rather well, with one occasional exception- after playing a song for an amount of time (which seems to be random), the player will stop playing, and the bar will move forward rapidly to the end of the song. The only way to play a song after this is to stop it, go into the preferences, and refresh the Primary Sound Driver. Ideally, I would rather not have to do this...

I've tried fiddling with various configuration options (changing the primary sound driver, etc.) but none of them seem to work. Does anyone know if it's possible to fix this problem?

When I was on OSX 10.5 I was using WineBottler's pre-built Winamp Lite edition and had no problems whatsoever; it might be looking into it for your use, as well.

That might not help, but I never had a problem with that particular setup, even after listening to some tracks for hours non-stop.

When I'm trying to make a program run in Wine on Linux, I run it from a terminal so I can see the debugging output. The debug messages are usually enough to figure out which DLLs (or other files) should be overridden with ones from Windows.

Trying to set up WineBottler causes X11 to crash. And in a rather spectacular fashion, too, as it kept reopening and crashing until I poked at it from the terminal.

Eons ago, I was using Winamp 3 or even 5 in Ubuntu, I just overrode most of WINE's DLLs with Windows ones anyway. It worked pretty much flawlessly.

It turned out that pressing "Play" or "Next Track" would usually fix the issue, so I didn't worry too much after this... (much easier than going into preferences)

But now, my Winamp skin has disappeared for no apparent reason. Might have to start looking into overriding DLLs...

I haven't played around with anything as of yet- it's "stock" WINE, essentially.

The thing I find bizarre is that theming just kind of randomly stopped working- it worked fine before, now it just ignores any theme I try and set.
