He probably stores different backups, as read only the old ones. So he'd just have to use the previous backup.

Anyways... how do the backups overwrite? I mean, I suppose you aren't going to have over 720... But also they don't overwrite each day...

25 backups a day * (2 files @ about 6M total) + 3 other files at about 5M total = 155MB per day.

This is assuming we download everything.

More likely it'll be 11M a day, then just downloading the daily backups.

...and then downloading the hourly when something bad happens.

Database fuckery doesn't particularly mean that the FTP server was compromised, helped by not using the same passwords any more (sigh).

Whereas if the files themselves got compromised, we'd probably be heading back regardless. Yeah.
