The conspiracy theories are useful; if someone starts rambling about one, you know you can safely ignore them because they won't have anything worthwhile to say.

The same could be said of the moon; almost anything we could need there could probably be handled by rovers. Personally, though, I'm more disappointed in the lack of manned space flights; there's a lot of useful experiments and other data that can be run up in space, and it doesn't seem nearly as monumental of a task as landing someone on the moon. But hey, at least we're still getting neat stuff out of it
