I recently found out that a CD was released covering the contents of the "Guilty Gear x BlazBlue live" concert. I've been listening to that a lot today !

Vampire Weekend – “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa”

I've been listening to waaaay too much Vampire Weekend this summer. It just…feels so unnatural, Peter Gabriel, too.

Sigur Rós – “Ný Batterí”

I really love Sigur Rós but I don't really get a chance to listen to them enough.

Jon Brion – “Hook, Line, and Sinker”

I love this guy's work in films such as I ♥ Huckabees and Magnolia and Synecdoche, New York and of course (when he was, I believe, at his most sublime) Punch-Drunk Love, so I decided to check out his solo album Meaningless.

It's pretty sweet stuff but nothing really amazing. I think I prefer his film work, actually.

Maverick Regeneration - Bear McCreary.

Bought it on iTunes a couple days ago.
It starts out as an 8bit tune, then eventually evolves into a rocking heavy metal track, then adds symphonic overtones. Basically..

Vampire Weekend – “White Sky”

I'm giving their second album Contra another listen and this time I like it a bit more but the hooks still aren't as strong as their first album. I think a problem is that they transitioned towards a more "soft" sound so they don't come off as nice and strong as they did before.

The Wrens – “Thirteen Grand”

Before I started to listen to music more seriously, I listened to The Wrens's album The Meadowlands and I didn't have much to say about it. But countless records later, I'm really coming to enjoy this indie gem. It's difficult to elaborate on this at the moment—I'm really tired right now—but The Wrens have solidified a spot in my play cycle. What a great album.

Browsing through my entire music folder today, I came across this gem from OCRemix.
It takes the Gerudo Valley theme chord progressions, and adds in a few sweet guitar solos.

Radiohead – “Paranoid Android”

I've been so busy listening to The Wrens, Animal Collective, Sufjan Stevens and others recently that Radiohead hasn't been getting any plays! This is a situation that totally requires rectification so now I'm listening to their third album OK Computer. I think it's pretty cool how robot/computer era-esque Radiohead's themes were at this time and their follow-up album Kid A which was, I think, about the fears of the incoming age of the Internet.

OK Computer is a pretty great album. I don't think there's much of a weak song anywhere except maybe the throwaway song "Fitter, Happier".

This album brought me into the world of alternative/indie music and I keep having to come back for more.

On Pandora, station is from Katy Perry. Playing right now:

Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved

I like Maroon 5. Just as many of their songs play on this station as Katy Perry now because of how many I have 'd

Another Maroon 5 song this morning - Wake Up Call

I just like their style and sound. I'm not sure how to classify it but its different than most bands these days.
