I took another briefcase. This one has a mysterious glow coming out of it, but no matter how hard I try, I can't see inside it. There's always something obscuring it from my view.

Awww, that's from Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga! I was playing that game a few days ago and I thought the ending was so cute, how they showed it as if it was all a movie being seen by all the Yoshi in the theater.

Yeah, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga is a pretty wonderful game. I've played through it so many times and it's as fresh as ever anytime. The Mario RPG series are surprisingly good.

I seriously don't think I've ever seen that Yoshi with popcorn art ever at all until now, though.

I'm not sure where the "Marioception" reference is. Are you trying to make an "Inception" joke, like Christopher Nolan's 2010 film Inception? 'Cause if any game is Inception, it's clearly Super Mario Bros. 2. I mean, come on, the game's obviously about Luigi, Peach and Toad entering Mario's dream to teach him about the utility of vegetables or something.

I totally agree! The Mario RPG games are perhaps my favorite ones of the whole series ... I really love the storylines, they're so good.

Super Mario RPG for the SNES had a pretty normal story. I just loved how they portrayed Bowser. The first Mario & Luigi was amazingly cute, though. I love all the crazy plot twists which they got away with thanks to its goofy tone.

I agree; when I first played it I was quite surprised with all the plot twists, I think it made the story very memorable. Although, I must say that in my opinion, The Thousand Year Door and Super Paper Mario had the best stories. Those were outright epic.

Super Paper Mario is definitely my all-time favorite, the plot was well written, the gameplay was smooth and fun, and there were enough side missions to keep you going long after you beat Dementio. Even going for 100% completion was fun.

I really agree, the game was so rich in content! I had so much fun playing it and trying to get 100% on it. I liked all the plot twists (like Dimentio ) ... so amazing

Now I feel like taking my Wii out and playing it ... too bad I'm going away in just over 24 hours.

Super Paper Mario has some of the most boring levels to replay though. Not to mention how they did the pit in it was bad. (Yeah, have fun doing two long and boring 100 floor pits with boring music, then do one of them again!)

I should give SMRPG a try again though, that game was so fun when I played it. Out of all the mario RPG games though I think the thousand year door is the best one. Good plot, amazing gameplay, and some enjoyable side quests. Though I still think the music was slightly better in the first paper mario game.

I think I generally agree, except that I also prefer TTYD's music.

I think they really perfected the "Paper Mario" formula in the second one, going back and playing the first the missing things really stand out... and Super Paper Mario is really a different sort of thing entirely.

The theater at the end is the theater from the movie, which shows the plot of the game. Kinda hard to explain.
