Finally got my first pistons in single player. I haven't figured out what to do with them yet but yay!


You should really update the server. I want to get creative with pistons with you all.

I read a suggestion earlier that Notch should make it so that music blocks scare them away.

...but I don't have permission to build in creative world and I spawned in my seaside cabana. I can't even open doors! I'm trapped.

Oh yeah! I forgot about the server almost.

Well, I had been working heavily on that project. I suppose if there's a way to copy it over, I could always continue it on the Jul server. Until then, it's gonna stick on my Single Player thing though.

What I'd really, really need is about maybe 75x75 of flat, waterless land.

I'd give it a larger scale if the current scale didn't already have a potential of 4096 blocks per single layer.

Episode 1 has to be done entirely by hand as that server doesn't have Bukkit, as much as I've been begging my friend to install it.

I know what ya mean, Terraria has out Minecrafted Minecraft in pretty much every way. I absolutely love how the developers constantly update the game with both bug fixes and crap ton of content.

However, what HAS actually gotten me to play Minecraft again is a really awesome compilation suite of mods. It may have been mentioned already, but the yogbox contains some carefully selected mods that really work well together and make vanilla Minecraft alot more fun and more goal oriented.

The Millenaire and Single Player RPG mods are what really make it special.

Side note: enabling every mod or even just the Millenaire mod lag the game a good deal on weak/old computers. Tad annoying, but hell its made me play Minecraft again so its worth it.

For those not familiar with all things yogs, its 2 guys who play Minecraft..alot.

Speaking of that, one of the reasons I stopped playing minecraft is due to the fact that it simply takes too much to run. Terraria is much better in that regard, at least from my experience.

Quite frankly, I don't feel one has "outdone" the other as I feel they are two seemingly similar games with different focal points. Terraria lends itself to dungeoning and fighting more, while I feel Minecraft fits the creative element well seeing as I feel a 3D perspective lends itself much better to the creation of things than 2D.

Admittedly I haven't played much of the other, but I'm honestly not all that interested in it right now. Maybe later.
