The mechanics of a tetris piece in a fighting game like this would have to be pretty unusual, since (especially on multi-layered maps -- oh wait, nobody ever plays anything but Final Destination

) you'd have a hard time getting to anybody, and Tetris pieces don't go upwards again.

Well, unless you're playing Tetris DX, so I guess you'd just have to spin against a wall to rise back up? Hm.

I was wondering how much time the person who made this image wasted creating it (too much free time?!) when I spotted Glover down there toward the right.

I am glad they remembered Glover. May not have been the best game around, but I had a lot of fun with it. Farting chicken cheat codes ftw.

From what I can tell, Sakurai has made it pretty clear what "side" he's on... (unless I'm misinterpreting what you're referring to)

Tetris has actually been in a fighting game before – Ai from Neo Geo Battle Coliseum can summon tetrominoes to attack! If they were ever to add a Tetris representative to Super Smash Brothers, I think they would do something like that.
