I highly suspect that the unspecialized forums (especially General Chat) will absorb most of the lesser idiocy, while the greater idiocy will spread out thinly across numerous places.

I can only hope that most of these aforementioned places lie outside the realm of Jul.

Well, yes. By 'destroy' usually I mean 'evict from the boards I'm currently on/other people who feel similarly to me are on.'

That way all the idiocy goes so very far away.

Such as CPU says, the idiocy will simply have to go elsewhere. Will pictures of yourself coincidentally wearing a shirt of one of those drasted popular horse things get you banned? Probably not.

Posting topics such as "Hello Trash Can" and "MAH BOY" and repeating meme threads based on copying what other people's topics say but slightly changing them? Much more likely to get banned for those.

Talking about MLP tastefully. As in, it's a good show, some fans actually make nice things out of it, x character is 20% cooler in the right context even, etc.
That's different from POHNEI HURK DORF

It's the same as Touhou a few years ago.

As for Craziness, it got eaten more than simply barfing memes by the "shitposting" mentality. Possibly because it got mistaken for a shitposting forum to begin with, and as I already said it being sent down instead of punching people in the face didn't do good.

In the end, post dumb shit -> DIE works the best.

I kinda want to weigh in on this, but I don't have a proper response formed, so I'll just state what my opinion on this forum is.

I've always seen this as a forum for meaningless, unimportant chatter that isn't really fit for GD. Like, my posting "So, if it's no longer the nineties... is there still time for Klax?" It isn't necessarily a shitpost, but it starts a stupid, inane dialogue around a stupid, inane post that is pretty much an exercise in humor. It isn't "hurr, i herd u liek 20% cooler memes with cats," it's... idle chitchat: the board.

The way I see it, the thought process should be "I'll try to post something amusing," when posting. Not "Let's post for the sake of posting itself."

And when replying, it should be "I'm going to try to be amusing in my response," not "what meme/reference/reaction image fits this thread the best?" Original humor is funnier than the canned stuff, even if it's harder to make from scratch.

Then again, I could just have the purpose of the board wrong. I don't post here often enough to really have a fully-formed stance. :p
