How do you eat sunflower seeds?
This is for if you get them with the shells already on them, not when you just get a bag of kernels

I personally eat them with the shells... I don't eat them too often, though. I'm too lazy to shell them, if I forget to get the kernels-only kind.

The only connection I have with Sunflowers or their seeds is that I am looking for a man who smells of them.

I'm allergic to the inside of sunflower seeds so I can really only suck on the salted exterior. Then I have to spit them out. It's weird because sunflowers are one of my personal imagery! It seems everything that I like visually has to be offensive in some way. True fact.

Oh. I was basically saying it was an important image to me, artistically, symbolically, etc.

I always spit out the shell- honestly I wasn't even sure the exteriors were edible.

That's me with a mouth full of sunflower seeds with shell in one cheek. Crack them open with my teeth, eat the seed, spit out the shell.

Oh man, sunflower seeds, I love 'em. Great food to eat while watching videos, as it occupies me while watching, isn't really that big of a meal and a single bag lasts so long. Never understood (and/or wanted to know) how to eat the seed whole, though, so I just take each seed shell individually, crack it open and eat the inside, ad nauseum.

Only problem is, the salt-dust... stuff... starts to flood my desk after eating them for too long, which probably isn't too healthy.

...Man, now I crave sunflower seeds!

I don't eat them often, but I generally crack the shells with my abundance of teeth.

I don't even eat them when I eat them... I just suck the salt off and spit out the whole thing. Seems like way too much work to open up every shell for those tiny seeds.

Ah, sunflower seeds. Brings back memories of young school days when kids would eat the seeds and spit the cracked shells at others. No wonder bringing shelled seeds got banned within a few weeks.

I have only eaten them a few times this past year... I got the ones already de-shelled and salted. Yum.

I haven't had sunflower seeds in a long time (9+ years?)… When I did have them, I would eat them with the shells (even though I got told to not eat them like that, I think.) So good.

I haven't had them in ages either. When I was really young, my mom would buy them and take off the shells and we would eat them.

Just like Terra, I haven't had them in years, I don't even remember how I used to eat them. I think it's literally been around 13 years since I last had them.

They were being given out for free at some event recently but before that I hadn't had them in years either.

It's really a shame that I can't eat them, though, because I actually really enjoy them.

They're great for keeping your mind active while driving. It works better than energy drinks. I started to get a little tired on a long cross country drive one time and stopped to get a bag of sunflower seeds. I was able to drive another 4 hours without feeling drowsy at all. My recommendation is to get the unsalted variety for a long span of eating sunflowers seeds. Eating lots of salted ones inside your cheeks like I do will make them really sore!
