Fail.

I have no A drive, so obviously the computer failed at determining the letters of my drives.

If you want to be technical, the computer I'm on now doesn't even use drive letters... hell, it isn't even x86!

I'm too used to this and retrying after I push the disk in or close the drive door though.

Abort. I have a better disk drive around here, I'll just switch them out and use that one instead...

F5 Retry. This thing needs a few times to start up correctly.

This space is, technically, for rent*.
Ignore. Ignore! Surely this must work without a disk.

What do you mean, no ignore? Fail then, I hope the program can deal with it.

Abort, because there's no floppy disk in A nor is there any SD card in B.

Except B: is always the second floppy, even though that's been rendered obsolete 20 years ago.

Go, Windows logic.

Abort.

If my computer or laptop doesn't even have drive A nor floppy disks, there's no need to read something that's being replaced by much smaller and efficient portable devices.

I have an A:\ drive. I used it to access some ANCIENT floppies. A couple retries would access even the worst ones, with any luck.

Of course, floppies were killed in part not only by flash drives but also by CDs, which are rather larger and less portable.

Floppies did survive when there were only CDs. Not for long, but until everyone had a CD burner, floppies were useful for moving single files around.

On a side note, my floppy drive doesn't seem to be working. I wonder if the thick coat of dust on its read head killed it.
