Heh, and I just canceled my Netflix service. Oh well, I don't see watching movies on a tiny screen with tinny speakers particularly appealing. Also, you'll have to do it with a wifi connection in range, so may as well just watch it at home, on a TV. the 3D is nice, but who's going to hold the 3DS in the perfect 3D position for 2 hours?

(By the way, I canceled because the player won't stop crashing in Virtualbox.)

People will still buy it because they're addicted to movies and want to watch them on every device they own.

Watching 3D movies is the ONLY reason I can see for using this. If you're watching 2D movies from Netflix on your 3DS, something's wrong.




On another note, Star Fox 64 3D is now out in Japan! The NA release date is September 11, and Europe is actually getting it ahead of time on September 9!

Looks like it won't be actual 3D movies, according to this article.

The 3D video service, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime told our own Stephen Totilo, includes 3D trailers, curated (perhaps funded) videos and music videos. Fils-Aime was clear that service wouldn't include full 3D movies. He also referred to Netflix streaming as a 2D service.

Reached for comment Thursday, Steve Swasey, Netflix vice president of communication, said that the company has not yet announced anything about 3D streaming. When pressed he declined to say whether Nintendo was incorrect in saying that Netflix was soon getting into the 3D movie streaming business.

At first I thought the same thing.. but Shadow the Hedgehog actually came out. And despite terrible quality, they kept pumping out Sonic games.

I have the 3DS and this is not a scam, 3D really works, but the battery life is horrible. i can't play it when we do a travelbeacause of that.
