Considering they've been recommending using mysqli instead for a while now, I'm not really surprised.

I've not tried mysqli myself, though, so I can't comment on how it compares.

Already use mysqli in the system I'm writing, so I don't really care.

As for pdo_mysql, I keep reading it as pedo_mysql, and that makes it annoying =(

I am rewriting my applications to use mysqli. It doesn't take much, actually.

Even Acmlmboard can be rewritten to use it without too much trouble.
