Looks like Google did another update to their page. It's pretty decent I think. Things are spread out, and there are clear separations between different things, so it's organized, where before everything was just kind of crammed together and strewn about, without clear separation.
The black bar at the top isn't too bad either, though they should either lighten it or darken everything else. It's a bit to clashing against the rest of the page, but it's not too bad for the search page The front page, however, it just doesn't match well on at all.
Another thing I like is the bits of red. A nice break from the EVERYTHING MUST BE BLUE thing. Maybe they got the point that people are sick of blue and it's less "soothing" and more reminiscent of shitty company pages that are just trying to advertise or sell you something.
The only problem I have with this is that it somehow takes longer to load. :/
I guess it's to blame at the coding or something.

Honestly, I'm not really sure I agree... personally, I think the older look fit more with the page, as it stands I suspect it's more of a marketing move than anything else, to draw more attention to Google's other products, but from a user perspective I think it's kind of distracting...
I mean, red as a color is fine, but I'm not entirely sure it fits with Google's color scheme... though, a full-on dark scheme for Google could be interesting, I doubt they'd ever do such a dramatic shift.

Can't you theme the google page yourself though? I mean, I never tried, but I know you can change background.

The red is out of place, the top bar would be fine without it or with a different colour style. The lag is generated by their auto-search feature which really drags on everything. But I do agree that the older style was more uniform. Though only for the top bar.

The guy who designed Google's new experience did a really good job at it, in my opinion.
Of course, this is coming from someone who was completely fine with Facebook's two big upgrades a couple of years ago and is also a web developer (and by extension, designer.)

Generally I like both new pages. The desktop version coloring could be a little different for my taste. I'm one of those people that statistics say prefer blue because its easier on the eyes. But grey is nice, it gives it some contrast.
The iOS page looks great on my iPhone. I like the icons, they feel more techy than just text. And its still nice and fast, even on 3G.
Yeah, Google's mobile page has a kind of Chromey look to it. I had noticed that before but didn't mention it. It's OK, I don't feel much about it either way. It would be neat if Google ever adds more extensive skinning, like they had for gmail a long time ago. I'd have a nice dark theme.
I don't really like the color scheme, but what annoys me the most is that they moved the URL under the site name, I keep looking for it under the description

So the URL that's usually truncated so not extremely useful is like a cm or so up, and that's a major issue?

Well, memory of how things are "supposed" to work can be hard to overcome... I don't know if it's fair to say "a few cm" as if it was nothing.

I like it. It's really nice to see a change from the standard corporate blue everyone usually relies on.
Red-orange and gray is a nice color combination, but it looks a little strange with the blue links of the search results. That and the huge blue search button. Are they trying to change the accent color to red-orange? If so, they need to do it completely so the page looks consistent.
I think it's alright. The top bar looks kind of odd but it stands out from the rest. I still dislike the auto-search thing, it tends to freeze up and not work a lot of times for me.
