I would have to say Nintendo. They make most of the fun games.

I like how there is an "other" option in this poll.

What is this, the '90s?

I grew up with an NES, and it's still my favorite 8-bit system, but I had a Genesis during the 16-bit era (and don't regret it one bit). Nintendo usually makes much more polished games with higher production values, but Sega still kind of has that "cool" factor that Nintendo never did, and probably never will.

I guess I vote "waffles."

SEGA. Nintendo makes some great games, but in spirit, I am much more in tune with SEGA than Nintendo.

I grew up with Nintendo and never owned a Sega console, so I will cast my vote for Nintendo

If you want to see this poll head the opposite way, go and post it over at Retro.

As for me, yeah, Nintendo.

It's a tough question- Sega made a lot of great games (like, say, Phantasy Star II... ), I wasn't into Sega when I was young but got some of their older consoles when I was a little older, and so have fond memories anyway.

But, still, Nintendo is just in another league in my mind... (Super Mario Bros. 3 alone...) and going from a 2011 standpoint it's not even close. (Sorry, modern Sega...) So, I think I have to say Nintendo here.

Although they put out some awesome games, I'm going to have to go with Nintendo for putting out awesome titles every generation. Plus, I'm not overly fond of how many of SEGA's games have weird localization and/or poor/awkward voice acting. Some of it is well done, but the rest is... yeeeah.

Fun Fact: "SEGA" is not a Japanese word, and was in fact founded by Americans. From Hawaii.

Well, this is a tough one for me to decide... I originally started with just Sega consoles (my first console was the Sega Master System in 1989, followed by the Genesis 2 years later), then got a SNES in 1994 towards the end of its lifespan...

And yes, I even did have a Sega CD back in the day and later a 32X... stuck with Sega but switched from Nintendo to Sony (got a PlayStation in 1998 for my 14th birthday with FF7), then after Sega stopped making consoles I went with the PS2 and GameCube (skipped N64), and FINALLY got an original NES in 2002.

I still to this day haven't owned an N64 myself but I've played others and N64 emulators... you have to remember, Nintendo did not use discs on the N64 due to three main reasons: a) they failed twice to produce a CD expansion for the SNES (with Sony and Philips), b) they were very worried about piracy, and c) Nintendo also liked the near-instant loading of cartridges compared to slow CD drives of the time. As a result of this, I actually ended up passing on the N64...

However, I got a Nintendo GameCube because of the Sonic titles on there (including Sonic Adventure 2 Battle) and kept both a PS2 and GameCube around... by the time of the current gen, I originally went with the Xbox 360 but never really played it and ended up selling it... now I have a Wii and enjoy it

So, I'd probably go with Nintendo as my final decision... sure, they had a rough patch during the N64 era but are still making consoles and decent games today, unlike Sega which has pretty much gone down the drain this past decade...

Paulguy's Post configuration
I grew up playing both at my cousin's house when I was younger, but I always prefered the SNES and NES. I later got an N64 and a PS1.
Nowadays, Sega is doing almost nothing compared to Nintendo, and what's there isn't as interesting to me.

Either that or Sega-16, where they go "NINTENDO IS KIDDYCRAP" and ignore that they're still in the console business.

As for me, I vote Nintendo, followed by my left foot. It's always better than my northeast one.

All consoles are scum in the eyes of Morbo!

Voting "other" because I like both equally.

Sega is despite their lackluster sonic games recently an amazing gaming company.

I grew up with an Genesis, and the preference stays.

In before "Sega does what Nintendon't"

Nintendo, for the fact they never gave up on their console line.

SEGA, for the production of some pretty good games for multiple consoles.

Oh, Nintendo, hands down.

I'm a Nintynerd. Which should be quite obvious by now.
