There's been some talk here and there on this subject, and, well... A thread on it is, frankly, long overdue. Basically, discuss which articles you think deserve to be "Featured" here, and why. "Because it's my article!" does not count. Sorry.
Here's the list of all the Featured articles we have at present.

I guess maybe Super Mario All-Stars?
I dunno, aside from maybe one or two articles, I can't think of anything that would not only fit a length and interest requirement that I feel would constitute a 'Featured Article'. We've had lots of little things put up, but nothing WHOA! Major.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Lots of content. Written in a way that doesn't make me feel as if I need to fire up the game myself to get all the information (though gameshark codes for if I wanted to would be cool). Entertaining. I like it better than the OoT page at least, but that might be due to my ignorance of MM's unused content. |

Great idea. Except it already *is* Featured.

I'm not sure about SMAS, but you reminded me: SMA4 might be worth considering. It is very complete and full of interesting information.

Pretty shameless bump, but yeah, I think this needs to come up again. Any articles that needs to be featured?

| I'd like to see Final Fantasy IV and Perfect Dark featured. I added a shitload of content to both of them; neither's entirely complete yet, still more to add, but I think they're both on par with the other featured articles. |

I was actually about to ask for Perfect Dark too. The article was enough to make me get a ROM and try the game out, ultimately leading to me heading to a local store to pick up a copy of it. Lots of interesting content is in that article, especially the Cheese. |

What gets me about Perfect Dark is the sheer number of unused stage-specific props. It's like the guys doing the mission setups never communicated with the artists doing the modeling. I suppose it's possible they simply didn't like some of the props, a few of them are pretty ugly or simply don't match the aesthetics of the places they were intended for, like the CI furniture, but others fit in perfect and still go unused. Given that they were still making setup changes ~2 weeks before the final build, I can't help but wonder if they just ran out of time to swap out the generic props for the intended ones.
There are also the completely baffling things like CIA Agent character, which is only used as a civilian in Chicago, but obviously wasn't intended for that role originally. They could've stripped off the badge, renamed the character, and no one would've been the wiser. |

The thing about not communicating and this leading to unused or repurposed assets: some of the dev team members from the N64 days started a playthrough commentary of Conker's Bad Fur Day some months ago, and that was pretty much echoes by the teammates as being what went down at Rare's dev offices. It sounded like a hectic but fun environment as far as the games were concerned.
Maybe it'd be worth contacting some of the team members and asking them directly? |

The thought's crossed my mind; I know SubDrag interviewed Duncan Botwood a few years back, but didn't really touch on PD all that much. I could try to get in touch with him and see if he'd be willing to answer some questions/direct me to someone who could. Honestly, I'm always a bit nervous contacting someone out of the blue like that, even though I know he's been willing to do interviews with fans in the past.
You got a link to that Conker commentary? I remember hearing about the possibility of it happening, didn't know it ever did. Never played Conker BFD, but I'd still be interested in watching it. |

We're eagerly awaiting the next batch of videos and commentary, but it's worth a great listen as it is. Most of the commentary is bitching about how shit of a job they did, or how great of a job they did, or trying to figure out how the hell they ever completed the job they did. It's pretty awesome actually, not just for a community like ours or for a Rareware fan, but as a gamer in general.
If I remember right, they even mention the cut Pikachu scene and explain/confirm why it didn't make the cut, along with some other early draft cutscenes/stuff. |

| Thanks for the link Celice, I've only had a chance to watch the first two videos so far but it's been great to hear the devs being so candid about the game. |

I'm not quite sure if this is fully up to the standards of being a featured article, but http://tcrf.net/Proto:Lufia_II:_Rise_of_the_Sinistrals is quite thorough and has several sub-pages and Notes: pages holding information which doesn't quite fit on the main page.
Though as a fair warning, Lufia II is one of my favorite games and I've contributed some translations to that page, so I definitely have a bit of a bias in nominating it as featured. |

Yeah, a new article should be nominated on TCRF. I feel like it has been ages since something was nominated and it's a shame. The same goes for DYKs.
I would mention potential articles but I feel really biased doing so since such articles are pages I worked on :/.
