I called him and said hi... and that's pretty much it. Not much I can do 100 miles from home.

I sent him a card, to see how he'd react to it, since he hasn't talked to me since I came out to him in December.

I don't think I'd really do anything for my dad. Those of you who know him will understand why.

We went down past the border (into Washington) for Mexican food.
In which they not-so-subtly suggested it would be a good place to bring a girl, then suggested a good girl to take. Not that I mind, but still..

Since I live more than 200 miles away from my parents, I wasn't able to give my dad anything more than a phone call telling him "Happy Father's Day."

I have never really given my dad more than a hug on Father's Day, now that I think about it. Probably because he never asks for anything.

I don't even know where exactly my father lives right now, tho I believe he's around the area somewhere. Haven't seen him in several years either, and have no means of contacting him. He, on the other hand, has my landline or cellphone number as far as I'm aware, as a cousin of mine met him on a train once and gave it to him, but he hasn't even tried to call me yet... Wish he would, tho, even if just to say "hi, I'm still alive" or something.

Nothing. Dad didn't even call.

I don't have his new number, and even if I did have it, it changes randomly anyway. =/

I gave dad a new joystick so he could play airplane games on the computer. He really liked that.

Burned an effigy of him on his front lawn.

No, really, I just spent most of the day at home by myself reading and stuff. It was nice. : J

Dad's not really much for sentimental things like cards and gifts so I just made a point to hang out with him.

I got sick and had a food poisoning/stomach virus for almost 3 days... Fun stuff.

Seriously though, we went to this place for pork sliders (mini burgers) and I think that's what did it. Everyone felt a little sick Sunday evening but I was the only one who was really sick the next day. After that (and before I started to feel sick), we went to an indoor go-kart place. They had $5 races for fathers so we signed up for 3. My sister-in-law and my father-in-law also had 3 races. My wife didn't want to race because she recently got stitches in her hand from having a mole removed. Anyway, it took over an hour just to get our first race in and by that time we were fed up so I complained to the manager to get our money back. After that, we headed home and it was about 2-3 hours later I started feeling sick.

I did have fun during that one race. They were gas powered and pretty fast, supposedly 45+ mph. After the first 2 laps I had the whole track memorized and was flying around every turn, nobody could catch me. It really sucked that their computer was down and couldn't give lap times, although I knew I had to be the fastest. I had 2 people tailing me for about 3 laps and then I noticed they were lagging behind. I was about to lap my sister-in-law but then the checkered flag came out and it was all over.

I was at work and my dad is two hours away from me.

I did call him and I sent him a card with some money in it.
