A New Hope is mine The one that started it all. But I like the entire Original Trilogy. The prequels, not so much.

Paulguy's Post configuration
I selected the entire original trilogy (instead of having specific options for the 2 trilogies, should've enabled multiple voting.).

Anyway, I don't know which of the first I like. It all kind of goes together as parts of the same story so it's all good.

I'm not really a continuing "fan" of either, but it's certainly the original trilogy for me. Haven't seen much of the prequels - only Episode 1, I think - and what I did see I didn't like as much as the original movies.

Mine would have to be A New Hope. I enjoy all of the movies, although A New Hope is by far my favorite.

The originals with Boba Fett in them. None of the prequels.

Attack of the Clones did. In fact, there were many Boba Fett's there, and in the third one.

I didn't say they didn't have Boba Fett in them. Rather, I prefer the originals and their renditions of Boba Fett to the messed up Prequels.

The Empire Strikes Back. Probably the most significant film in the series. It has a twist M. Night Shamalayn (sp?) would kill to have.

I'm one of the minority that thoroughly enjoyed The Phantom Menace. I think in terms of the pace of the movie and feel of the story, it was the closest to the original trilogy. But it had better special effects, more Jedi, epic saber duel, and still had a non-CG Yoda. Pod racing was a nice addition as well, creating a featurette within the movie. And it also made for a really good video game. The original trilogy is still the classic and we wouldn't have Star Wars without it, but I really like Episode 1. I was 13 when it came out and it was the first time seeing a new Star Wars movie in theaters for me. I had seen the Special Edition re-release in theaters but that wasn't the same as seeing a new one for the first time.

Decided the original trilogy. The modern trilogy wasn't great (sans for Revenge of the Sith), and if I had to pick only one film, it's definitely The Empire Strikes Back.

Also, I did enjoy the racing spin-off on the N64, even though it's a little difficult on the eyes for some tracks.

My N64 had the racing game too. It was kinda tricky to win some of those races, but eventually I beat 'em all.

Issue I had with Episode 1 is it didn't feel much like Star Wars. Of course, I was shown the trilogy first, even though I was too young to have seen them originally in theaters.

For those of you poor, misguided souls that prefer the prequels, here are some great reviews of them by Red Letter Media:

First part of the Phantom Menace (Ep. I) review

First part of the Attack of the Clones (Ep. II) review

First part of the Revenge of the Sith (Ep. III) review

His voice can be annoying/grating, and there's an unnecessary recurring bit about him being a serial killer thrown in, but they really are great reviews.

Yeah, that review is extremely biased against the films. I only got through part of the Phantom Menace one since I'm at work, but obviously they're out to bash the prequels in the first place. They fail to mention that a group of characters can be the protagonist (Qui Gon, Obi Wan, Amidala) facing the antagonist group (Trade Federation, Sith). While the story may not be quite as rich in character development and detail as the original films, it is anything but incomprehensible or shallow. The interviews were stupid because they barely knew the characters to begin with. The woman didn't even know who Qui Gon was by name.

To fit their restrictions on describing Qui Gon, I would say he was headstrong, independent, determined to do what he felt was right, rebellious to leadership, protective of those under his charge, doesn't mind taking risks for greater rewards. I could go on but I have more work to do.

Watch all of it, at least. Just the sheer amount of idiocy it points out is mind-boggling.

Biased against the films? What the hell does that even mean? He's reviewing one of the worst movies of all time.

Like whatever you want, but don't pretend that the prequels aren't shallow. I'm pretty sure that enjoying the prequels in general is basically like saying "I don't understand what is so good about the original trilogy".

edit: and for Revenge of the Sith apologists, go back and watch it again, it's just as bad as any of the other prequels (and has some of the dumbest lines, like Anakin saying "Well from my perspective the Jedi are evil!"). And

Its hard to decide over this classic series of Star Wars, I like them all, but if I have to choose, I will pick the original trilogy. Like they say where I am from, you can't beat the original. And it is a true classic.

I much prefer the original trilogy to the prequels, for pretty much all the already stated reasons.
