So I'm playing through this game and I think I managed to beat the system. Somehow I managed to beat the fourth level WITHOUT losing the Super Mario you get from the midway point. The game had better crown me king-of-all-things-SMW or I'm going to be severly pissed that it's no good to have done that.

Because hard is awesome. It builds character.

Seems there was a sequel to this game. Golly.

I had an SMB3 hack that was impossibly hard...I have no idea what it was or who made it as it was so long ago, but I do remember a 1-tile-high waterfall at the bottom of 1-1.

Heard about that Mario hack. Funny references in the level names in here, as for example Yoshi's Island 1 was renamed to "Akihabara" (district of Tokyo, but about 99% of board users know this anyway), which has a ... freaky touch. Recently friends were in Japan, they confirmed that fact when they visited the capital city of Japan. Nevermind ...

The second video is really cruel, just see when the player enters that small-Mario-only door in the last stage ...

These movies are really entertaining to watch. I've watched the entire Kaizo Mario 2 series, but I haven't finished the first one yet.

I just wish I knew what all of the Japanese text said.

The only one I know is what the sign in the KMW2 level 8 (Bowser's Castle) says. It basically says "I trust you."

あなたにたくします

あなた - anata, or, "you"

に - ni, which is the connecting participle, which points "anata" to "takushimasu"

たくします - takushimasu, to entrust.

So, literally "you are trusted" or "I trust you." since in Japanese the "I" is usually just understood.

*nods*

I didn't bother reading the signs, though I guess I should've for some practice.

I only read one, in KMW2, but that's because it was really short. The guy was thrown into an inescapable trap, and there was a box that said "Die!" in it. Pretty cruel game.

I hope there's a KMW3 in the works. Perhaps with a bit more levels, though I imagine these levels take a helluva long time to make.
