Is anyone else sick of these things? I have taped some paper over 4 LEDs so I could sleep easier because without it, my room is pretty much lit up. Why not the usual old dim green/red/amber. My router has a ton of green LEDs flashing away in here and it's not a problem at all, but these blue LEDs are ridiculous.I could replace the one in the desktop computer (or just disconnect it) but my amplifier has THREE (I listen to stuff when going to sleep.). The tape and paper probably looks kind of strange. Does anyone else experience these problems, and what are your solutions?

I'd rather have a cool blue glow in my room than a creepy red glow.

I agree, though, it's kind of ridiculous how bright modern electronics are. I had to put tape over the HDD light on my tower because a) it was blindingly bright and b) it was aimed straight at the ceiling. Looked like a friggin' electrical storm in the room every time it blinked.

I'm partial to the yellow-green/amber colored LEDs. They're unobtrusive, and I'm already used to them.

I'm surprised how blue LEDs are crawling into everything these days. I mean, I guess it looks futuristic, but it's still really obnoxiously bright.

Blue colorss have lost their calming quality and have taken on a more corporate quality. It's used everywhere in media used to promote a product or service, way more than pretty much any other color.

Red is good for being perceptibly dimmer than any others and green is good because it's generally comfortable, especially typical green LEDs which are typically a bit dull/inperfect, rather than the super vibrant, overwhelming blue LEDs you typically see. The eyes and brain seem to strain less with handling duller colors, and especially greens. At least mine do.

My computer has green and yellow LEDs, and most of my switches are green too, with a red LED clock.

Blue is best saved for video game consoles.

Well, my monitor has a blue LED, but you can turn that off. Arguably more annoying are the green lights my keyboard and mouse emit. You can turn those off as well, but I usually don't bother.

Blue is for all those [trope=EverythingIsAnIpodInTheFuture]ipod modern things[/trope].

Green blinking lights are more old school and have a more Matrix-like feel.

I have and preffer the later.

Everything I have has green LEDs, but they're brighter than any blue LEDs I ever had..

Never had any issues sleeping with the light though. It's not that big of a difference.

My laptop has a green LED that flashes when it charges, and I always have to cover it up at night... I imagine a blue LED would be an order of magnitude worse than that, even. (though I'm very picky about light while sleeping)

I don't mind light when I sleep, I've napped in broad daylight a lot At night I keep a small light on or a window shade open because if I just see total blackness when I open my eyes, I tend to majorly freak.

My router has four (out of seven) very bright blue LEDs, three of which are flashing constantly. And it's in my bedroom.

I had to put a piece of electrical tape over my cordless phone's charging icon and my router (because of bright red/green LEDs)... blue doesn't really bother me very much

3DS's blue LED is really bright as well. I have to throw it under my bed before I go to sleep while it's charging/using wifi.

My tower has a blue LED going around the power button. There is something below it (hard-drive light, I'm assuming) that flickers pink, oddly enough. The router has 1 blue LED and 5 green ones. My dad's power switch for his tower is a large blue LED.

But none of these are in my room, so they don't bug me. I have a few lights in my room, but none of them flicker.

I have a mouse that looks like a car and it has strong blue LEDs. My dad bought it for his laptop but he learned how to use a touchpad and my previous mouse was broken (And it sucked because it lacked a scroll wheel and instead had a touchpad thingy that scuked instead) so here we go.
It's not really an annoyance to me because I turn off my computer at night and my keyboard and mouse are under the desk.

I also got other computer equipment with LEDs, but they're green and not strong. I like green more because green is my favorite color (You couldn't guess that from my post layout and avatar, heh ).
And these are my speakers, my router and my cable modem.

Don't forget the Wii... always fun to have the blue tray light start pulsing 'after hours,' if you get a message, or something. At least you can turn it off, though.

I have a ton of randomly colored LEDs all over my room (three clocks, two on the TV, one on the DVD player, about 20 in the computer area (router, tower, etc), and a couple of other random red ones). They all either blink, or are blindingly bright. Problem is, I've gotten so used to all of them that if I try and tone any of them down with tape, my room will suddenly feel a lot more "empty".

Shrug.

I dunno, I like red.

I have a ton of different LEDs in my room - green, red, blue, orange, white, and now even yellow. If you think a blue LED is bright, you haven't seen the Power Mac G4/G5 white LEDs.

They practically lit up my room. Didn't disturb my sleeping any, though.
