I actually disabled that check shortly after I added it because it was kind of ridiculous. Loading 3+ MB into PHP every time (on top of all the other overhead) is kind of silly, but it probably worked back when stopforumspam was smaller.

Anyway, I finally did what I was planning on doing months ago.

Hm, yeah, that is a problem. I have a similar system of IP banning, but it gets ridiculous there...

Hopefully that login thing will dothe trick, because otherwise... that is a lot of IPs...

Though perhaps loading an array with the IPs and cycling through them would be fastest. Unless you've already tried that... (PHP likes to speed up stuff involving arrays of stuff in a for loop, some functions even have using arrays for arguments built in, and in those cases it is faster.)
