I'd love to get in on a new world as well, when it starts fresh and such. I kinda got on the bandwagon a bit late, hehe...

I think you'll get your wish. Someone's currently trashing the server D:

It seems we're basically getting owned by Bukkit 2.0. Some dude named Koalathunder destroyed all the beds, emptied all chests and completely destroyed the base, then surrounded the default spawn point with unbreakable thorns so you die as soon as you respawn. Also, he loves to spawn dynamite on top of people as a surprise.

Great coding, Terraria devs! No server validation, so people can hack in whatever the fuck they please and use it on any server they wish!

That's what you get for a game that releases earlier than expected!

This exactly.

(I was going to be incredibly rude. Thank you for getting to this before me.)

Well, I mean the developers did say they are releasing it earlier than planned so, you know, things like this can and will happen until the proper fixes occur.

I enjoy this game.

We played for about 14 straight hours today.

Sleep dep wooooooooo

Gah. Everything is going well, I'm deep down in the mines, when I trap myself in a hole. I can still jump out of it, but there's a Mother Slime RIGHT ON TOP OF ME. Goodbye half my money, at this rate I'll never get that mining helmet. Did finally upgrade to a Gold Broadsword though.

Paulguy's Post configuration
Bunch of sand -> glass -> ton of jars

Sell the jars. Easy money, if you want a slow but easier way to get mining helmet.

Use bombs to make the work faster.

I've got more than enough to get a mining helmet, I just wont spend the money on it since I have the light orb.

The light orb won't help you when you're underwater, being raped by mother slimes.

edit: that is, if it goes out.

I'm far more careful with my light orb's status. I've used it enough I know good times to reset it based on activity of an area.

Bombs are expensive, so only if you find them in pots.

BRB, I -flooded- the underworld.

warning: kind of a large picture, as it's a map. But still.

What you can't see in the picture: The fact that the water is backed up halfway through the channel funneling it down. I need to find a safe (Ha!) space in hell to watch the water all flood out.

I sorta did the same thing on the multiplayer server... twice.

Flooding hell is always fun times, at least in my opinion! ´:3

I think you're encountering the infinite water bug where sometimes pools of water just drain infinitely or near-infinitely. There were reports of that a couple times over on SA.

So I got my mining helmet. Started a new world (small this time, large is kinda GIGANTIC for one person). Five minutes in, hey look, a vein of diamonds. Then sapphires. Well then. Guess I'm getting my mining light.

Also dug down to reach lava, for the first time. Then I killed myself in it.
