The Lawless Mayhem of Metania is a gargantuan, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Metal Man with a fair hand, and remarkable for its unlimited-speed roads. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 13.911 billion live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, liberal individuals concentrates mainly on Healthcare, although Public Transport and Defence are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Eisnaught. Income tax is unheard of. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit, the government is spending billions of taxpayer United Nation Fragments to support the Book Publishing industry, most of the military's funding goes into researching space-age weaponry, and referenda are held for every conceivable government action. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Metania's national animal is the Armadillo, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Church of the SubGenius, and its currency is the United Nation Fragment.

Metania is ranked 18th in Axis of Absurdity and 6,428th in the world for Smartest Citizens.
