My high school didn't filter anything, but the teachers and other staff would constantly spy on students to make sure they were doing something academic.

He currently is making a living off of it. He's making about $500 a month (after server fees) from what I've heard. Not a lot, but at the rate he's going it's going to raise into the thousands before long.

In addition he's doing some freelance work. So he's definitely not hurting.
