I'd try and somehow center the background and then use a constant color around it somehow.

Because at it is right now it's rather eeeeh, the picture ain't fit for repeating.

I'd try and resize the post field so that it'd fit with the background picture.

As of now it's overhanging for me.

Yeah, I second this- it doesn't look good on wide resolutions...

The concept for the layout appears to be fine, though, if you can find a solution for that issue... (also, Ikachan hides behind it, that's amusing )

Lol, I saw that. I messed with my layout's bg picture a little and now it scrolls up and down with the page and is aligned to the right
I'll mess with it a little more and see whether I can fix it so that the text box is only on the picture.

I fixed the textbox so it's on the picture, but now both are outrageously small, so I might make a random table to the side just to fill in the space.

It probably won't hide now. At least since my CSS has a fix for that.
From http://lain.rustedlogic.net/layouts/css/lain_jul_catgirlredux2011.css, line 6:

That line brings Ikachan above my post (and others.) I'm not sure whether I'm using relative positioning or not on the main wrapper... oh, I am. It's a little nasty to be honest, but it works.

You've got some empty space at the top of your posts... this might be the board's automated conversion of newlines into <br> tags, so you might want to deal with that...

I fixed it, but it seems that the space is there, because the board automatically makes the table in the center of the post

Viewing this site with a small screen is pretty much terrible. Lots of the layouts stretch the page pretty bad (including mine )

It looks awesome but it slows down my scrolling ever-so-slightly. Not a problem for me, but it might wreak havoc on somebody with a slower machine. Then again, I have about 10 tabs open, so...

That Metal Man guy said I should use transparent pngs, so when I have the time, I'll make those and use them instead of the browser generated transparency.

I actually did extensive testing for that when I first made my layout.

Reminds me, I should update it and get rid of the ugly artifacts sometime.

You really need to fix that before one of the admins "fixes" it for you. Nothing in your layout requires it to be that wide.
