Yeah, FF3 was slow and rarely updated compared to FF4. I'm using the Nightly releases these days, for most up-to-date stuff.

I haven't had any real issues with Firefox 4 thus far... (ChatZilla has one odd graphical glitch, but even that isn't too hard to deal with) and I've been able to make it look close enough to Firefox 3 for my change-averse self.

Okay, so I got 4.0 just a few seconds a go after some of my friends said that it was about as fast as Chrome. The layout is nice, I just hope that it doesn't crash a ton, because that is the browser I am required to use for online tests by my science teacher

5.0 beta is out already? I just got 4.0 like two days ago. I'll just get it from the Mozilla site.

Okay, I got it, but now my RealPlayer doesn't work for it. Darn.

I usually don't use beta releases of Firefox...

I do wonder if the "Firefox 5" would be better labeled as 4.1 or something, if the motivation to changing the version numbering scheme is really to try and catch up with Chrome that's a bit silly in my opinion...

What are you still using RealPlayer for? I thought that is more than extinct.

ParaLax: Get Real... Alternative, that is. Or perhaps VLC would work?

Edit: messed up quotes

Think that's funny, they just gave me 7.0 to test now.

Also, plugin compatibility can be hacked into working in some cases.

Are you getting that off the Mozilla website? There's only FF4 beta seven, but no others on the firefox website.

Look for the nightly builds- those do seem to be using a version number of 7.

I'm not satisfied with FF4 at all. Both Youtube and Jul refuse to display page elements when using it. Not that I have a problem with it, I prefer Opera, but FF was my go-to-browser if I needed to display something Opera was being funky about. No clue what causes this.

My school upgraded to FF4 from FF3. Things are noticeably faster now, though because we're on a grand unified BC provincial education network shared by all the schools, universities, and hospitals in British Columbia, things are a wee slow at times.

An interesting thing is that someone put Opera 11 on my computer at school, and it looks almost exactly like FF4.

Look for the "Nightly" browser ParaLax, it has the high version numbers.

And they just keep getting faster, which is nice.

I've heard the stability is pretty bad on the nightly browsers, though?

Of course, I suppose I'm too dependent on add-ons anyway for that sort of thing...

It's been perfectly stable for me so far, I have no complaints.

I possess a full fleet of add-ons and have experienced no more than one crash over the course of 4 months while running nothing but Nightly.

So it is nowhere near as crashy as it would seem.

Also you'll need the Add-on compatibility tester plugin--since add-ons are in reality almost always compatible with Nightly, just that they stupidly limit the versions they work on for no reason.

They've just released Firefox 5.0.

What is this Firefox 4 isn't even two months old.
