The Postal Service – “Sleeping In”
If there's anything that Death Cab for Cutie shows, it's that Ben Gibbard can write some catchy melodies but lyrics can be kind of hit or miss, smothered in cheese and lyrical clichés. The Postal Service, which is a collaboration between Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello, suffers from this occasionally but the songwriting and textures are nuanced enough for it to be interesting still.
Also I totally have to say I love Gibbard's voice—it contrasts an electropop accompaniment so well. I don't care if he's talking about something as embarrassing as a world where there wasn't any mystery around the guy who shot John F. Kennedy (Last week I had the strangest dream / where everything was exactly how it seemed / where there was never any mystery of who shot John F. Vampire Weekend – “Oxford Comma”
I finally got around to listening to Vampire Weekend's eponymous first LP. It's pretty neat stuff with the blend of indie rock and afro-pop and everything. A lot of the songs are pretty catchy too, particularly "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa" and "Boston". I feel like I have a lot less to say about them than anything else I've listened to so far, though.
I'm going to check out their second LP.

I went to YouTube just about 10 minutes ago and on my homepage, I scrolled down to the "Most Popular" section and the Music video there titled "Swedish House Mafia - Save The World" captured my interest. It was house, it should be good I thought. I am so glad I clicked it.  Amazing it was ... The song was amazing and the video was very cute, perfect combination!
