Yesterday's shirred eggs may have been a disappointment but today's breakfast totally redeems any sort of reputation the protein-ful poultry ovum may have lost. I had leftover brown rice, sausages and sunny side up egg. The sausages were Jones Dairy Farm, all pork again, and although I've been missing it all this time, it wasn't until I first bit into it this morning that I confirmed how much I like this more than anything else I could find. The pork flavor is just so strong and juicy and the texture is just fantastic.

The eggs were fried in virgin olive oil instead of the usual butter or sunflower oil and then seasoned in sea salt, white pepper, parsley flakes and paprika. Things fried in olive oil seem to carry this distinctive oily sheen to them which is pretty neat but also somewhat unappetizing to the oil-sensitive because it's so gosh darn shiny. The best part of olive oil and the reason you should ever use it in cooking at all really is its distinct flavor and this really helps the egg. This in turn goes awesomely with rice.

This was delicious but like anything delicious it was only around for a little while. Then it disappeared.

I eat two eggs every morning. I probably shouldn't but with all the things I naturally worry about I think I can let an unhealthy habit like this slide.

I eat two eggs almost every day, too! Yesterday I finally got a chance to go grocery shopping so I could have a ham (turkey bologna) and cheese sandwich for breakfast!

For dinner, I'm having rice, red kidney beans (in a stew like I did before), chicken (I'm making the rice partially on broth, we'll see how that turns out), and cut green beans. I also bought apple juice to go with that.

Right Now... nothing. A few minutes ago I ate a handful of saltine crackers. They were quite good. I'm thinking of uncovering the grill and eating some kabobs with dinner

I had a beef dip and a potato for dinner. It's a simple quick meal, but it is usually pretty good, even when you cook it alone.

I ate a ham and cheese sandwich just about half an hour ago, which was probably a bad idea since now I might have trouble sleeping.

I've realized I'm a bit repetitive - I'm having another ham and cheese sandwich. But I have to eat all this bread before it goes bad!

Two fried eggs seasoned with white pepper, parsley flakes and soy sauce; two sausages and brown rice. I'm out of uncooked rice now, which really makes me sad since I love rice, but I have a bunch of cooked rice from this morning sitting in the refrigerator for use over the next few days. I still haven't been able to make the Asian fried egg exactly the way my mom used to which I've been trying to do for a while now. I think I might need a wok to pull off the Asian goodness the way she does.

On the other hand, though, it's been forever since I had a softboiled egg. I'll probably make some tomorrow morning. :9

Rice is so good I don't run out, I have about 18 pounds left and the moment it falls below a critical amount, I buy another 10 pound bag.

I think I have enough food to make it through June. ... maybe...

I ate three pieces of pizza for lunch. It was not some of those really tasty pizza slices, but it was okay. The glass of Fanta that I drained tasted quite good actually.

My mother made small chicken pizzas for dinner... the ones with pesto instead of tomato sauce were particularly good.

I had spaghetti and meatballs tonight and then an Edy's pomegranate fruit bar. I was always a huge fan of the lime- and lemonade-flavored ones but pomegranate is impressive.
