| I have two dell batteries for my laptop and they still survive to this day. I have a four cell one that still runs about 3 hours (down from 4.5 hours), and an 8-cell one that lives for about 6 hours (down from 7.5).
I had a laptop from another company and the battery died very fast when I charged it up fully, discharged it for about 5 minutes, and the began to charge it again. Also, with my dell laptop batteries, I always discharge to the end. Forget the bullshit about lithium ion batteries having no memory. |

| I have to agree with neotransotaku's opinion about common Li-Io (I think) batteries:
My Nokia 3200 is several years old, still in use and has standard batteries - they still hold about six days in stand-by and maybe about three hours when calling someone ... I usually leave my phone switched on always, letting it discharge until it turns off (if someone urgently needs me at that time, they know the phone number(s) of the places I usually am), then I charge it over night. Again, I am too lazy to open up the phone to just look up the battery type now ... But as with any rechargeable battery, after a longer usage it can die pretty quickly. So fully charged batteries should be used normally (hence why rechargable ones are sold in a discharged state usually, apart from security or other reasons). As for the laptop, I'd buy the original one from Dell. There could be really cheap alternatives which fit your needs and laptop voltage, but you never know about security and such. Some time ago even a very cheap non-brand cell phone battery exploded while the phone was in use, killing the user. Although this should really in extreme rare cases, on the other hand you never know how long your cheap battery lasts or if it will last least as long like the original one from Dell ... so the problem is the price of the original ones, but some very cheap ones can be more expensive if these break or even could do damage to the computer. |

| The article makes it pretty clear the cell phone was not in use, and that the person was working in "hot temperatures."
"Oh my gosh, should I take this short-fuse bomb to Spark World with me!??!?" |
