Frontiers Extreme!

Well, technically, "by YK and Dragon Fogel".

Anyhow, Frontiers Extreme is a weird "crossover" game made in RPG Maker 2000 (yeah, outdated, I know; but it took us so freaking long to figure out *one* game maker, that we decided not to bother upgrading. :smugdra: ). It's not finished; not even close, and this version of it only goes a little ways in. Nevertheless, it's fully playable, and should be relatively glitch-free. We've since changed/fixed random stuff, but it should give you an idea of how the game works overall. This demo has actually been available since long before I joined Jul; I just didn't feel like showing it off until I got to know the place and the people here better.

What the game *is*, basically, is a mishmesh of random projects (some in RM2K, some not, and some which are still active on their own) that've been started and cancelled by me and my friends over the last decade, all smooshed together into a crazy RPG. It's pretty in-jokey, but not so much so that it's incomprehensible (and the protagonist has no idea what's going on, either). It's not intended to be "high art" or anything; the sprite and tileset mismatches are due to the whole "crossover" aspect, after all... but it came out pretty good for what it is.

The project has been on hiatus for a while, but we're bound to want to get back into it sooner or later. Anyhow, enjoy.

The game's plot is basically, numerous worlds have somehow merged into a single bizarre one, leading to everything being totally chaotic. That's the general gist of it, anyway. There are numerous plots that open up throughout the game, as you explore the strange merged world. The first major villain is Fred Phelps, who's every bit as much of an asshole in-game as he is IRL. Taking him and his crazy cult down is quite satisfying, as I've been told by those who've played it.

Also, screenshots. Note that the last two won't technically appear in this demo; they're from some stuff we've worked on since the demo was released. I just liked them.

A very bizarre old inside joke. Someone in the group had a weird dream that he was playing some strange RPG, and when he died, he got the bizarre message "THE OCEAN BLEW UP!". We decided to include that in FE as a joke.
