I just realize that I have never used the quick touch feature on my microwave or on any microwave that I have owned. There's just some features on a microwave that I don't use. I just put in the time to cook my food.

I use the pizza setting for...well, pizza, and the popcorn setting as well. But that's about it really. Otherwise I just ballpark things using my best judgment and trial/error.

I don't have a microwave, but often features on other devices go unused by me. My phone can act like a calculator, hold notes, or surf the Internet for a ridiculously high price more typical of 1980s on-line services than any Internet access available in the 21st century. All I use it for is sending and receiving calls and texts and storing phone numbers.

In my experience those auto-cook features are good for pizza, but can overcook other things...

I've used defrost only once since I usually like to defrost the night before. If I'm in a pinch, I'll put it in a bag and defrost it under cold water.

I never use popcorn because cooking popcorn on the stove is way cooler. Once you go stove, you don't go back, baby.

I've only used the popcorn feature once.
It made the bag explode. Somehow...

Don't have any of those gimmicks. But doesn't matter, since I can use the microwave just as well on my own.

Until recently my Microwave was one that used a dial instead of a touchpad. The one I have now has some presets but they go completely unused.

My microwave is jammed packed with tons of features and buttons that I nor anyone in my house have ever used. My popcorn, TV dinners, and pizza turn out just fine (well about as good as leftover pizza can get in a microwave anyways) without out the use of special buttons.

I think I set a bag of popcorn on fire using the popcorn button last year. I haven't eaten home popcorn, or used those buttons since.

I have an impeccable record of cooking microwave popcorn without burning it. However, as I now hate microwave popcorn, it's a moot point. I prefer to make it on the stove instead.

But anyway, Anya. Remember this. You have the touch and the power.

Once, my dad burned a bag of microwave popcorn with an order-of-magnitude error. He put it in for 30 minutes instead of 3

On the topic of 30 minute microwaving, I just thought of furbie microwaving. So funny.

The government has gratefully introduced ID cards with remote readable chips so they know exactly where you are. People actually suggested microwaving the ID card to destroy the chip. Dunno if that's any healthy to the microwave though.

Put it on top of a ceramic dish and stick a glass of water next to it. This prevents electrical discharges (because the ceramic is an insulator) and magnetron overload (because water will absorb microwaves).
