I think Notch needs to be a little more flexible with release dates. :\ Releasing 1.5 today against Portal 2, tentatively releasing the final version against Skyrim...

I disagree on 1.5; there's a distinct difference between releasing an update and releasing a game. In fact, it may even have been smart, as Portal 2's release will ease the strain on the Minecraft server from people updating.

This actually makes a lot of sense. He also can not really be blamed for releasing something when it is done, and why would he want to wait to release a patch?

He was more trying to get it done and out so he could escape the office and play Portal 2.

EDIT: He is also working on 1.5_01 right now to fix some bugs from 1.5

That's what happens when you try to ignore your twitter just to avoid Portal 2 Spoilers(and thus miss bug reports as well).

I didn't get much in bugs aside from a random unusual appearance of 'crafted' ink sacs in my stats after fishing for a bit.

I felt kind of let-down, I figured there'd be more achievements set up than the few that are there.

Well they'll probably add more achievements as time goes on. I wouldn't be surprised if new ones crept in there with each update.

Also, seems like the 1.5 upgrade has made some really major bugs happen, if the Minecraft wiki's version history page is to be believed. I'm going to suspect that there's gonna be a couple more patch upgrades in the works pretty shortly here.
