...whaaaaaaaat?

Unless there are advanced chambers I missed, the game should not take longer than 6 or 7 hours. It took me 5.

That's very strange. You're playing on Steam, right? I'm playing the 360 version.

There... aren't any differences between the two other than PC and PS3 players can play with each other while 360 users are all alone.

The game goes much slower if you take the time to appreciate how much detail was put into this game.

Next time through, read all the text you can find, search for some secrets, and wait around to hear some extra lines of dialogue.

There are also a few tricky puzzles in the game, so I imagine some people could also get stuck on those for a while.

I am taking my time to listen and I keep reading the walls/posters.

Appreciating still only took me just under 7 hours, though I probably did miss some conversations by moving ahead too quickly. That and the longest I was ever stuck on a puzzle was 20 minutes-ish.
Also lemons.

It's an enigma
----------------------------------------------------
Me and my roomie blasted through both story mode AND co-op mode in the span of... what appears to be 11 hours (360)

We're pretty sure we missed a lot of the excellent details (graffiti and whatnot) so I'm more than likely going to go back and play though on my own.

All in all, this game is... pretty much exactly like the first in feel (a GOOD thing mind you), improves on the overall, has an equally entertaining plot (in my opinion, anyway), adds new elements, and hey... co-op!

The fact that the main campaign can be played through in around 6 hours follows close behind the first. Portal isnt MEANT to be a long game, just a very polished and pretty one that's well paced and feels complete. On the other hand, most of the flavor of the game IS in stopping and smelling the potatoes

I have to be near the end, right?

Oh christ I forgot that.

And yeah, you're near the end Anya.

So what endings have you guys gotten? Apparently, there are supposedly multiple endings available for Portal 2...

Multiple... endings? D:

Well I did appreciate the details I saw as I was playing through as fast as I did, and I did my best to listen to every bit of dialogue. However, there are parts where Wheatley just doesn't shut up. In the beginning if you don't jump you spend a good minute of him talking about you saying "apples" until he just gives up, but sadly this is the ONLY time he actually does this.

Well, except for

I am playing it again with developer commentary. Very interesting things to note and lots of fun trivia. The writers are amazing.

Finished the single player mode today. Took maybe 6 hours of actual play time.

It was enjoyable; the new mechanics got a *little* tedious toward the end, and SO MANY LOADING SCREENS. Seriously Valve -- you could have consolidated some of those maps.

I'm looking forward to the editing tools; I hope they don't end up being too hard to use.

I think I know why they did this, and personally, I agree with them. They optimized the maps very well as it is, so making them bigger while having all these kinds of events would have a huge toll on computers.

Go try out the commentary. One talks about the moving room at the beginning and how it took 92 days or so to calculate every little bit of rubble that is created and rolled around. Something to that extent.

The loading screens weren't THAT bad. I mean, I personally would take those five second loading screens over a 20 second loading screen any day.

So just cleared a commentary run of the game, very fun stuff gives good insight into the massive amounts of thought put into it.

Probably gonna go do some achievements/secrets or try and find a co-op buddy to clear that part with.
