Those maps look absolutely lovely! How does the portal thing work though?

I was hoping somebody say that! that one of the games I had in mind while creating this map.

Thanks! Those portals are level warps and this map one of the 4 over-worlds.

There are 4 over-worlds each will have 4 level warps except for the last (3 levels including Bowser level) total of all 15 levels.

BTW there is a 4th portal underwater but it hard to spot.

SM64 Star Road - Sandy Slide Secret (Major Hack P8)

This time I am showing you a side level I made for my upcoming hack Super Mario 64 - Star Road. I am putting just as much effort into side levels as any main level. Since Bob-omb Battle Factory I have made this, the second boss (which is not bowser), and have nearly finished the 11th main level. I have started trying to blend classic SM64 level style with my free-roam style levels, and the result it quite nice.

I have been putting many difficult 1ups for all you TAS and non-TAS experts out there, so you can look forward to lots of new challenges weather you are a normal player or a hardcore player.

Looks like a good start to your hub. I think you should straiten out the textures on the roof, and also delete the unused faces underneath them so Mario doesn't fall through the ground. You could probably scale the textures smaller without any troubles, too.

i've been trying to do that, but i dont have GSU pro and dudaw told me this:

GSU's native triangulation seems to do a better job at preserving texture scaling / positioning than the tool you're using.
It should be under options in the 3D model export window.

You're out of luck with my suggestion if you don't have the pro version, though.

so i'll probably just crack it or something. but if you don't have pro, how can you keep the texture scaling correct?

sketchup's obj exporter has an automatic triangulation feature. i know most people triangulate manually, but i've always just let the exporter do it and my textures for the most part come out pretty ok

i know, it's the NEW rogueport square because my game takes 5 years after the course of Paper Mario TTYD so i don't have to make the levels exactly the same just similair, but i agree, i'm gonna add more things to it later

SM64 Star Road - Retro Remix Castle (Major Hack P9)

This SM64 Star Road preview is a Super Mario World themed castle called
Retro Remix Castle which is in the Star Road rom as the second Bowser course.

The boss beyond the red door is complete, but I decided not to show it to reduce spoilers. I'll tell you one thing though: Boss 1 and 2 are not Bowser . Enjoy!

This is the last side level i'll take a preview of, and there may be one more main level preview.

He said in the Youtube comments that he gave them lava collisions (hence the reason the lava in that video don't spit out bubbles).

hooray i finished a new level and here is the torn-down Riverside Station!
The story behind this level is Riverside Station hadn't been used for a long time so construction workers from Poshley Heights tore it down and the land eroded eventually making the sandy spiral and i'm going to put more koopa shells to be koopas who wandered into the desert

I love what you did with the wing graphic, and I love the Kazooie talon trainer music as your wing cap tune.

not so good. getting a job is kind of a higher priority for me right now, since i graduate in like a couple weeks. also my birthday's coming up and my friend's joining the marines and i have all these loose ends to tie up and girls whom ive been douchey to who i should probably go talk to and it's just a mess.

maybe during the summer or something.

and sorry for blogging metal man but it's sort of mario related.

Over 2/3 done now. I expect to be done by around August/September. Or i could go with the popular 11/11/11 date and get extra testing done. Extra way-more-then-necessary testing.
