Yeah I am also a bit too old to have in-person pokemon connections. Is there an action replay code that'll populate the city? I haven't seen mine yet but I've definitely blown the ten day limit.

I caught a Pawniard to replace Cogswell. (As cool as he looks, he's not too useful on my team.) However, I need nickname suggestions since I'm having trouble picking one on my own. Here is some info on him:

Not sure why so many people are having issues with their black cities/forests being empty. My friends and I all took well over 10 days to beat the game and our cities were populated with like 7 trainers. We hadn't used the entralink or even traded any pokes before then too.

I'm curious if those who have problems are playing actual store-bought carts on real hardware as opposed to roms/emulators. I know my emulator doesn't handle date info correctly and if so It might mess with the pokemon game date/clock cycle. From serebi.net, "Over time, if you fiddle with the clock too much, the areas will become deserted with no buildings and trainers in Black City and no grass in White Forest." Just a wild guess though.

As for my progress, I'm 630/649 Caught. Just need the usual suspects....Arceus, Shaymin, Latios and the rest of the Black/White legends. If anyone needs any breed-able pokemon, don't hesitate to ask for a trade.

I tried Entralink with my boyfriend while I was in DC last weekend. It was okay, nothing that surprising. I got a few people and a new building in my Black City, but that's it...

So I somehow managed to beat the Elite Four and survive the endgame despite my horribly underleveled team. Samurott with Revenge is a fucking beast. That, and having 20 Revives and 50 Hyper Potions on hand certainly helped.

Ughh, so I just lost three ranked random Wifi matches, one after another, against people from Ohio, Tokyo and Chile. Not a good start, huh? I'm just not a competitive trainer... Still kinda fun, even though it was a sorta crushing experience.

I've never played Pokemon online (Black is the first Pokemon game I've owned since Red), but apparently winning is near impossible because the whole thing is a disconnect fest.

As for nicknames, I generally am not creative enough to give them =\

Disconnects? Great, its fucking Mario Kart all over again. So much for people polaying sportsman like--wait, this is Pokemon, what was I kidding? People only care about having their shiny OU roster with a perfect EV spread that they didn't even earn legitimately.

Oh hell, Mario Kart DS... I generally loved the online play on that, but random matches sucked. First race, the 4th ranked player disconnects, second race, the 3rd one DCs, third race, maaaaybe the other remaining player is fair enough to finish the match with you. That's basically what my experience with MKDS online was, and I bet it was even worse for many others.

As for Pokemon, considering I haven't won yet, I can't really say anything about disconnects there... All I know is that I'm sportsman enough to not DC on other people. Although, I'm wondering if I should start DCing myself, if it's really still as bad here as it was with MKDS

Honestly, just try and play when the western world is asleep, and play against Japanese people. They are better, yes, but they aren't ragequitters, that's for sure. People who read smogon will fucking quit if you even look at accuracy/evasion changes.

Not to mention the west is using nothing but annoying weather teams right now so yeah :/

I tried random matchups and my team wasn't leveled up to 50.

I didn't disconnect though, I even managed to survive enough to paralyze and hurt a Togekiss.

Usually I go around underleveled and like some masochistic battles, but first-half of the game pokemon (low level, low EVs, weak moves, NFE) against competitive pokemon is a little too much.
