If we're going to be specific, then I live here. It is a really boring place where nothing ever happens.

If we're going by closest city of noted worth, this is a city where a lot of things happen.

Sortland, Norway.

A small town in Northern Norway, the main commercial centre of Vesterålen, the lesser know geographical sibling to Lofoten, but on equal levels as far as beatiful nature is concerned.

The town itself is not much to speak of. A somewhat ugly, small arctic town, where there has been a more or less successful/failed project to paint all the buildings blue to make things more interesting.

However, if you go out of town, there is a lot of beatiful scenery. Mountains, fjords, and such. Perfect for the nature lover. Northern lights if you're here in winter time (on clear cold nights only, of course. Otherwise, be prepared for the occasional blizzard. ). And midnight sun in summer.

So, yeah.

There are idiots everywhere, I guess.

Makes me a bit nervous about my grad school preparation. They want me to observe "high-need" schools, and I have this feeling that "high-need" is code for "ghetto"

I get to see these fireworks from my apartment every night.

Danielle, that is most beautiful. You are one fucking lucky ducky. Are they totally easy to catch and stuff too?

Seems really nice to me, but I have to imagine that it gets disruptive after a while simply because you're hearing loud bangs every night.

I've lived here since I was about 14...
Southwick, MA

Famous for: Rebecca Lobo, television basketball analyst and former player in the professional Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA)

Annnd grew up here, as well as having connections with it still:
Deep River, CT

Famous for: Every year on the third Saturday in July, Deep River hosts the Deep River Ancient Muster. It is the largest one day gathering of fife and drum corps in the world.

Having a town hall that is in the shape of a friggin' triangle.

I'm not from a city...

But my hometown is boring enough that there's really little to say about it beyond quibbling about the legal difference between cities and towns in Massachusetts.

I'm from pittsburgh

the most notable thing in pittsburgh is pollution (Thats a stigma thats been stuck with the city forever, even after cleaning up).

I'd say the most notable thing about pittsburgh is having the best NFL team of all time

At least people know what pollution is.

I try to mention American Loggers, even to normies, to people when mentioning my town and more often than not they're like "wut?".

Millinocket is invisible. Permanently.

Not to mention all the great musicians who came out of Pittsburgh in the first half of the 1900s.

We've got this on Saturdays in fall. And... some other stuff no one really cares about.

Born and raised and still live in South Florida. Shame it's filled with a bunch of old people that enjoy coming to the casino that I work at.
