Okay, I know, it's totally overdone as the spotlight of utensil quirkfests, but lately I've been asking myself, what are the benefits of including sporks in your cutlery cabinet? Forkspoons, to use the non-trademarked term, are totally hip and a symbol of both backpacker and military culture owing to its utilitarian design. Let's face it, guys, forkspoons may very well become a silverware staple.

This is why I absolutely want to purchase my own silver spork or maybe a whole set if I like it enough. Do you guys think you'll ever cave in and purchase your own set of metal sporks or perhaps you have your own very passionate argument against sporks. That's cool too, I guess, if you're into being angry about eating utensils.

Let's see some beans being spilled here, people! Share your thoughts.

I'm not a fan of sporks for actual eating. They're awkward as a fork and not very good as a spoon, either.

Sporves would be even worse

I've seen utensils that eschew the combination of a fork and spoon and just have a fork at one end and a spoon on the other. To prevent food from sliding onto the handle when one end was in the air, they had a lip at the ends where the actual useful part of the utensil was. I haven't seen one of those things in a long time though.

Yeah, sporks don't go over well with me, they can't hold soup, and they aren't strong enough to stab through a steak.

Using a forkspoon as like actual tableware seems kind of like putting a sleeping bag in your room or using a wind-up emergency radio in your car... I mean, there is a place for spoonforks. But I'm not convinced that place in the dining room.

Yeah, some things were designed for temporary use. I discovered that after my attempt to use an airbed as my permanent place to sleep. Ended up breaking 2 of them.

Incidentally... Spork:

'swhat I thought of when I saw this thread name. (When I installed the Sims, one of the local stray cats was named Spork. He's since been adopted. )

I might use a spork for eating some desserts. I'd personally use it for pie.

In short, anything I could potentially eat with both a spoon and a fork, I'd try using a spork.

Sporks and spoon shall rule....something. When I find out, I'll let you know.

I prefer to use spoons for everything. Except the long pasta, then I use a long fork.

But that's about it. Knives? Pah! Only for steak that's so tough I can hardly chew it, anyway.

Yeah, I just use forks and knives and wouldn't want it different.

I'd vouch for sporks in my cutlery drawer. Some days I feel like using a spork.

1. Install Sims and all expansion packs. Because I can and to an extent miss that game.

2. THE KNORK

Totally odd question here, but where exactly would you purchase a spork?

No, really, I'm serious.

Outdoor/Camping Stores should carry them, if not, just grab a few from taco bell or something.

You should look for them on Google. I'm sure there's someone out there selling a whole set of sporks.

I've got a titanium spork, but I don't know where it came from.

I hardly ever use it.
