I'm wondering if there's any demand for speedruns/TASes of some of the hacks made here? (For example, Super Metroid: Dependence/Golden Dawn or Yoshi's Island: Kamek's Revenge)

This rule has been relaxed in recent times.

Usually if the hack itself is well known, is an exceptional piece of work, is considered to be the best hack or the only hack for that particular game, and makes a very interesting TAS, odds are good that it will be accepted. The point is just if they are going to accept a TAS of a hacked games, it needs to stand out, and it needs to be exceptional.
Look at the ones that have been accepted for guidelines, SDW:TLC, Mario Adventure, and Super Mario Air. They're all considered cream of the crop (though I'd have to say that Air's category that it is at the top of is actually difficulty rather than SMB1. There are better SMB1 hacks out there, but none are this extremely hard and are still that well designed) and are pretty interesting to watch. Plus since there are so few, I say any of the completed Yoshi's Island Hacks have a good chance of getting accepted if the TAS itself is awesome enough. |

Machi-Machi v. Kyan!Except that definition of 'awesome' has been terribly skewed over the last year or so on TASvids. That whole civilization has been going downhill for a while now...
