Just use this to enable all your add-ons if you're impatient, though a big WARNING: incompatible ones may crash and require some intervention to fix, so... be careful!

I'd be sold, if the URL autocomplete worked like it did in Chrome. Right now it works, but only for half of the websites I use.

Just use bookmarks, jesus. Firefox actually has usable bookmarks built in and should fix the awesomebar problems in the process just by adding the sites to your bookmarks.

I'd use it, but Classic Compacts seem to have problems, and I don't wanna use beta for this, I'll just wait for it to get an official release, can't take that much time.

But I appreciate the help!

It's crazy what you can do with the right addons, nowadays. No stupidity of the orange bar, and all the space saving.

The window bar and menu bar becomes combined when I maximize the window to save space.

It's just slightly more crazy. :smugdra:

Is there an extension that will allow me to quickly search specific sites through the address bar? Like if I type "y" in chrome, youtube.com is suggested, then I hit tab and can instantly search youtube's website. Not sure what it's called. It's the one feature I sorely miss.

That's in by default, click the engine dropbar to the left of the search bar, select "Manage search engines", and set up keywords. Then you can just type "y whatever" to search youtube, for example.

Except i'm still on Fx3, so I'm not sure if it applies.

I liked FF4 at first but now I'm really considering going back to 3.6. The usability improvements are nice, but absolutely not at the cost of stability.

Only beef I have had with Fx4 so far is how it keeps loading a TON of plugin-container.exe processes before it closes entirely. Otherwise it's been better than the older versions have been. To me, at least.

How does it keep crashing? I haven't had any problem with it yet at all. Like, not a single crash. Ever.

I'm using incredibly unstable Alpha builds and I'm not encountering any crashes either.

Try running a virus scan and deleted unnecessary plugins

#59
It hasn't crashed at all for me either, and never runs multiple plugin-container.exe processes at once ...

I wouldn't even have any reason to go back to 3.6, since 4.0 feels almost exactly the same for me (see 3.5 and 4.0), the few extensions (and compact theme) I use were updated for it, and of course the rendering should be better ... it just doesn't feel much faster like it's supposed to be, but it's not worse either

It's been doing it since I did a fresh install, it's Fx4.
It appears to be related to cookie clearing. Also shows up in a few bug threads without fixes.

I recommend you use a free copy of ccleaner for vista/7 and let it properly clean out the cookie cache for you.
Also look into it's mini tool system and have it scan for any small system problems.
If the above still does not correct it, I prefer you use Firefox 3.0 or use a stable copy of chrome.

I was thinking of downloading this, but I've been keeping on delaying it. And besides, I don't use Firefox all that often, Chrome is my main browser, so I'm quite sure I'll be sticking to it. I'll stay at 3.6 until I encounter any problems.

I still think this is the best version of Firefox since its early days (maybe FF2 or before that even).

To me, Firefox 3 has been shitty all around.
