| Beat the 8th Gym. I tried to have Zolo fight Haxorus, but it barely survived and finished Zolo. Then I dragged Chopper out and we spent two turns buffing ourselves until I killed it with WATERFALL HELL YEAH.

| I just beat the rematch against the Elite 4 / Champion in Black.
God that was hard. Turns out that the three Legendaries I have all take massive damage from Ground (and somehow every single Elite 4 pokemon has earthquake or stuff like that). Somehow a LV55 Sawk helped me greatly (allowed me to have two turns to revive + heal my ~lv75 stuff) ____________________ "Water is the best way to buy time" ~Day9 |

I have just started to give Gen 1 some loving again, by buying and now playing a copy of the Pokemon TCG for GBC, after I lost(?) my original one back in the day. Nice experience going back to both, Gen 1 and the TCG

I still remember the basic info for my old decks, too, if you need some help getting through the game. I used to be really into the cards as well.  Though much moreso for "collecting" than for battling, for whatever reason I never battled much. (And when I did it was usually under some odd "house rules" that kind of screwed with things)
I had TCG for GBC as well... that game was pretty fun. (my copy is also "lost(?)", coincidentally- given that I haven't seen it for years I doubt it'll turn up anytime soon) ____________________ |

I wish I could remember what decks I had on my first copy of the game. Had two or three, but I can't even remember their types or basic strategies - then again, that was 10 years ago... Only thing I can remember is finishing the game on New Year's Eve 2000(?) on the toilet 
Also had physical cards as well, most of which I ended up selling, etc. over the years. Should still have a few uncommon and rare cards left tho, like, I think, the promo Meowth from the GBC TCG and a Holo Nidoking from Base Set 2. Not sure where they currently are, tho... Also not sure if I still have my Japanese Eevee and Holo Entei; I sure hope I do, because they were expensive for the time
As for my playthrough of the GBC game, I started with the Charmander and Friends deck and have been doing some matches to find back into the gameplay, remember which cards did what, how type advantages and weaknesses worked here, etc. - it's been going well, I guess, and my memory just needed a little push
