You know, the plain white Fruit of the Loom or Hanes t-shirts. Do you wear them?

I do. Under anything, dress button up shirts, t-shirts, polos, etc. Saves the arm pits of my regular shirts and they're cheap and disposable. Even on a hot day I wear them.

I do wear t-shirts and I'm not exactly sure what specifies something to be an undershirt. :E

Yeaaah, me neither.

Sometimes I wear two shirts at the same time if I'm cold.

My husband wears them. I don't know what I'd do if he didnt.

I myself during summer like wearing tank tops under sheerer shirts, the advantage of layering, etc.

This is exactly how I feel about them. I always wear a short sleeve collared shirt and then if I want an extra layer I'll wear a coat, anything beyond that just seems like overkill to me.

A simple white t-shirt like this is what is generally classified as an undershirt:

But sometimes people refer to wife-beaters tang-tops as undershirts as well:

I wear the first instance listed above since they cover the pits and save my shirts from unnecessary stains.

I still don't get what the difference is between an undershirt and any t-shirt. :<

I mean, it would be silly to have two names for the same thing.

I guess these are designed to be more close-fitting than regular T-shirts since they're for you to wear under your clothes.

Undershirts are made for the purpose of wearing underneath something else, so they are typically plain and white. T-shirts are made for the purpose of being displayed, so they are typically much more colorful, and they may have art and words on it.

The line between the two is pretty blurry, as something made to be an undershirt can be worn as just a t-shirt, and perhaps vice versa, but there is a distinct difference.

Anyway, I've recently gotten into the habit of wearing undershirts, and they work well since I almost always wear dress shirts. I don't see myself changing this anytime soon either, despite the rapidly warming weather around here.

I just wear T-shirts alone, perhaps with a leather jacket or sweatshirt.

I should probably wear some kinda undershirt-type thing. Too many t-shirt armpits are falling apart from my heavy stick use (has armpits that sweat insanely regardless of how thick antiperspirant is used)

I used to back in school, when we had a rigid dress code. Our "overshirt" had to be this white button up thing made by a specific company that was thin as all hell, so wearing an undershirt helped hide what was underneath.

I made the mistake of not wearing an undershirt for the first week or so of my senior year, when the new dress code came into effect. Let's just say that a few lecherous boys could see my bra outline and were driven crazy.

Now? If I wear something that has buttons, which is very often, I'll put on an undershirt. It's quite comfortable, and dare I say it, cuter.
