There is something I'd like to bring up about Mega Man 3 in general.

This animated sprite:

This animation has always looked weird to me, so I reversed it.



Looks better? There's a reason. After reversing it, I checked the sprite placement in the ROM.



As you can see easily with the help of the numbers, going from left to right gives you what appears to be the proper order. Essentially, Break Man was supposed to reveal that he was Proto Man, not Proto Man revealing that he was Break Man. Of course, nothing is solid facts unless the animation is found in motion in game, so it's still theory, but I would say this is pretty sound given the tile placements.

-that big rocket-shooting robot from MM5
-a stationary version of Elecn (that flying plug robot from SparkMan's Stage)
-an exploding (?) panda
-a snail that looks like that mid-boss from Toadman's Stage

You would do well not to trust anything you see in a corrupted ROM.

None of the unused tiles I found in Spark Man's stage last year exhibited such behavior, so it's probably just a glitch, unless there are unused behaviors not mapped to any tiles.
