Only 3 years until it's the same for me. I can't quite claim the same feeling of oldness, but I can say it definitely has been a long time since the first incarnation began.

(I happened to join a different board in the year 2000, and stayed until early 2011 there. Unlike here, it became increasingly filled with bitter jerks.)

I haven't been around acmlm/jul for as long, but once you get to your 12th year in a single community, you begin to feel like you've been wasting your life. Actually I've felt that way for the past six years really, in regards to the sonic community at least.

I gave up on the Sonic community long ago. Even the prototype research-turned-hacking scene is a complete mess now, but I still get a kick out of reading Sonic Retro's wiki entries for places like Area 52 and PACHUKA. Those were good times.

10 years at VGF: I'd have no problem continuing to stay there, but the community there mostly treats me as some subhuman idiot to harass and aggravate, so I dropped them like a hot potato recently.
8ish years since I joined (but not actually around) Sonic 2 Beta/Retro/Whatever: The community morphed into something other than I what I joined it for. 2ish years ago I decided I had enough of tolerating the changes going on and left.
8ish years since joining SSQ (my home RPG): All's fine. Of course, I run it, so it does what I want to do.
6-7ish years since joining Acmlm's: It just keeps getting better, in my opinion. Those horrible drama-filled Inc 2 and 3 days are long gone and more cool people join this board as time goes on.

I've been having a hard time justifying staying around the sonic community these days too, to be perfectly honest. I've lost nearly all interest in that blue rat four or so years ago, and I really only find myself logging in to check a few topics and talk to a few people. Oh well.
