Thanks for the offer man. I'll just see how many pokemon I have once I finish the main game again then I'll see.

I have got Wifi, but I have to set it up a certain way so that my DS can go online from it.

Should learn to actually make a decent layout.

August/Bayleef - Lv 59
- Needs a good and reliable offensive move. Will evolve to Meganium next level.
Noctowl - Lv 58
- Planning for an Hypnosys/Dream Eater combo, but that'd sacrify Fly or Brave Bird.
Megaton/Golem - Lv 58
- Has Rock Climb, but the rest of moves work perfect already.
Ampharos - Lv 58
- Considering Thunderbolt instead of Thunder because of accuracy, however has spark already so it'd be redundant. I wish TMs would be unlimited in this generation.
Siberia/Glaceon - Lv 56
- Needs entirely new moveset. Also just found it can learn Signal Beam.
Spineshark/Togetic - Lv 55
- Needs a good Flying/Special move, or any move with a good side-effect (because Serene Grace).

Progress:
- Exploring half of Kanto
- Get Moltres
- Double battle against Lance
- Gym Leaders Rematch
- Get Lugia
- Fight Silver
- Elite 4 Rematch
- If by then I don't have my pokemon leveled up high enough, rematch the Elite 4 until I do.
- Beat Red.

Time left: 5 days.

I dunno, man, Spark's pretty damn weak. And it runs off Attack, which is considerably weaker on an Ampharos than Special, which Thunderbolt uses.

Ehh, not Spark, I meant Discharge. I always get those two confused.
It is only 80 BP compared to 95 of Thunderbolt, but it hits everyone in a double battle, of which I do more than normal ones.

Ah, Discharge is pretty good, yeah. My Porygon-Z has it.

Although personally, I find the "Hits Everyone" bit to be a slight problem, but your team does have a ground-type, so it'll work better for you.

As for Noctowl, I'm looking at the thing's stats and I just don't see Brave Bird working. We're dealing with base 50 Attack - Spinarak has more.

But I'm curious, what exactly is its moveset?

That one (which is also Sky Attack, not Brave Bird! Really some attacks look just the same) is just to have a flying type attack to kill things it is super dooper against. The thing actually is more for Hypnosis and Reflect.

As for base 50 Attack, the thing has shitty IVs and nature so it is about the same as Sp. Attack. (Well, at least it has high defense and HP though)

Yeah its SpAtk sucks too - only 79, IIRC.

I just read up on a very interesting way of getting shinys easier.

I'm going to try this later! :p

Wow, 1 in 2000. They're just giving em away now aren't they.. hehe.

Yes I do realize it's a huge bump up in chance from 8k to 2k but as much as I love this game..I aint freaking breeding my pocket monster two thousand times for a simple palette swap. But at least this method is still legit and still has a good amount of luck involved, unlike those other methods.

The ones involving, insanely specific circumstances that lead to a guaranteed shiny that usually go like: walk 200 steps, flip the coin poke app 423 times, make sure your first pokemon in party has attack stat of 134 and make sure its precisely 4:39pm with 20 seconds when you walk on this specific square of grass all while patting your head and rubbing your tummy..counter clock...

Yeah..no thanks..think ill stick with my traditionally colored geodude and my sanity.

Something about PC98

About colored geodudes, keep in mind geodude family and golbat family and such probably take up a very large portion of all pokemon you encounter, so even if you happened to encounter a shiny randomly, well, hope you enjoy your orange rock and/or green bat!

[/has a shiny golbat and hates it]

Man, I remember gen 2, used the mimic glitch to get a shiny Ditto from gen 1, got like... 5 shinies out of it in a day or two. So much easier than nowadays. 1/64 chance, glorious.

Also, found a shiny Misdreavus outside of Mt. Silver one time, shame my battery's probably dead by now. Since then, I've found... 1 shiny Houndoom (fainted, wanted to see if it had Flash Fire without breaking my chain), like 5 shiny Shinx (so I could get my SID; it was before HyperGTS), and I think that's it.

Actually, there is a way to get a 1/1 ratio on the shiny rate. It involves using the pokemon radar in D/P/Pt. By for each chain of the same pokemon you raise the odds of a shiny grass patch to show up, and a shiny grass patch always have a 1/1 rate, but keeping a chain up to around 40, where you actually get a whole lot of lower ratio, is rather low. :p

I mean, the ratio is still very low 1/2k, but I still think it's worth a try, if you're breeding for other reasons anyway it does not really matter, and no, for the record, IV breeding is stupid. ._.

I have a quick question for you guys and girls for you. If and when I catch a shiny ditto if I breed it it with a non shiny Pokemon will the hatched Pokemon be shiny or not?
And can you trade eggs?

No and yes.

Downloaded Black today. Not that impressed, but it's good. Don't really like the music, though

I'll edit this post with my friend code later, now off to get that Munna.

EDIT: 4126 4166 1513 (name Buranky, because i name myself differently in every version). Add me!

Ah screw it I'm hyped for this game.
Curse the pokéthlon, making me not beat the game... Now I am half-restraining myself from buying it tomorrow.

At least I have the pokes up to level 60s now, that's good. All I have to do is simply leveling up.

I guess I'll just "clear it", and leave getting the post-post game stuff for playing during B/W. I want to transfer everything there anyways.

Funny enough how I managed to keep reasonably off spoilers up until now.

(Also I lack money)

Really sanky?

The music was better then the route themes in P/D/Pt, IMO. :<
My only real complains so far is that the is very obvious linear now, (in the past it was not really as obvious as it is now IMO.) and that the menus takes forever to load. :|
