Having Spring Break actually be during Spring would be nice ... but I guess the temperature is not that bad.

It must suck to be in Canada when it comes to the weather. At least here it was 55 degrees today.

It's been so cold for so long, I went outside today and I could see my breath, but it felt like summer. I'd like to just hit around 15*F

Ack, that sucks We've been getting temperatures above 40 for a while now. Maybe over a week.

I always did wonder why spring break tended to be more in late winter than in actual spring

Also, summer vacation ends long before summer does at many schools. We used to go back to school at like August the 22nd in Michigan

That is when my collage starts each Fall semester. I have a strong distaste for it.

Ranges anywhere from mid-August to early September here. Depends on the level of education and the school board. Universities always start after Labor Day.

We always come back in early Septemeber. This year, I can definitely wait for my summer holidays. First, it's loads of exams lumped right next to each other, which is going to make revision a massive pain and secondly, one of my best friends is transferring to a different college next year, so I'm probably not going to see him again for massive periods of time.

We already had a spring break a few weeks back. Though they differ across schools here.

Speaking of schools, my fucking chemistry teacher managed to make me cry. I seriously thought that isn't possible any more. :|

The last real vacation I went on for Spring Break was back in 1999. My mother and I went down to Florida to visit relatives and go to a few theme parks. We had a great time. My brother's girlfriend's father worked for Universal Studios theme park and that just so happened to be the preview weekend for Islands of Adventure for friends and family. We got to go in the park for free before it was even open to the public. That was fun. Then the trip home...

We were in Mississippi driving down the highway when the back rear tire had the tread blow off. The Ford Bronco swerved and got sideways at 70 MPH when we started to roll. A witness that stopped to help us said we rolled three times. I wasn't buckled in the backseet and was lucky not to be thrown out of the car. But my knee must have hit the pavement through the glass on one of the turns because I had a huge hole in it, almost the size of my kneecap. My mom hit her head on the dome light which split her scalp from front to end. Luckily it didn't cause any skull or brain injuries, just the scalp. My brother, who was coming back to Oklahoma with us for a while, was reclined with his belt on and only got a pulled muscle in his shoulder and a raspberry on his knee from glove box. My mom had over 80 stitches and I had 50 just on the outside of my knee, probably 10-15 more internally to close the gap.

Since then, we haven't really done much for spring break. Plus, I got my GED at 17 and started working at 18. So I haven't actually had the week off for about 7 years now.
