Do you have any great family stories? They can be funny or serious, but please list them. My favorite from my family is about my mom and her sister. They were fighting so viciously that my grandfather got tired of it and went up to them and conked their heads together and told them in a sharp tone, "Shadupp". They were so surprised that they were quiet the rest of the day. XD

My dad sleep walks, or use to a lot. Not quite as much anymore. But my two favorites were when he tried to wash my brother's head. It was something about giving the dog a bath and my brother woke up that morning to find a bucket and laundry detergent by his head.

The next best when my other brothers were living with us and sleeping in the garage. My dad burst into the room, starting yelling that they needed to help more with the chores. Then he went to get a piece of paper and starting writing on it and dropped in on the floor. We looked at it the next morning, it was just a bunch of scribble lines. We kept it on our fridge with the label "Dad's chore list" for a long time.

One time, the circuit breaker was making a lot of buzzing noises.

So I ran downstairs and I found my dad and I said, "Dad! Dad, the circuit breaker thingy upstairs is making buzzing noises!"

And, his two feet planted in a foot massager, he says, "Not now; I'm getting my foot massaged."

Then the lights went out and his feet gets stuck in the massager. My dad, he says, "Do something!"

So I went and grabbed my camera while he hopped around awkwardly.

Too bad I can't find the picture anymore.

Actually, there was another good sleepwalking story from my dad. There was a time we were staying on the second floor with stairs outside our door. We woke up to my dad throwing cups of water at the stairs, saying he had to put the fire in the barn out. He had done at least 3-4 cups of water on it before we realized he was sleep walking.

I sleep talk/shout/sing a lot, apparently

Also, when my sister was little, we were talking about the Bible/God/Jesus, and my sister goes "Wait, we have a Bible?"

Plus, there was the time when I was a baby, and my youngest uncle (14 at the time?) was holding me. Like most babies, I drooled. His reaction was a priceless "Eww... she's drooling on me! Get her off! Get her off!"

And obviously, there are other stories. This is just a small selection

My parents first met in college, and quickly became really good friends.

They were both crushing hard on each other, but were reluctant to act on it because my mom thought my dad was gay...and my dad thought my mom was gay!

Then they found out otherwise and started dating and eventually got married and then had me.

For some reason I find this really funny.

My parents met in the deepest ghetto in Michigan, where they both worked at the time.

As for interesting stories, my grandmother was born in Morocco in the 1920s as the last of 17 children. Only 4 or 5 survived to adulthood and they lived in a tiny house because they were poor. She would sleep at one end of the bed, her sister at the other end, and their feet would both be in the middle, and they used their dogs and cats to keep warm.

She later fell in love with and married an American soldier during World War II and moved to Detroit with him. His family was racist and didn't like her.
