I just got back from a bunch of geek goodness!!

For those who need the back story, go here.

We were lucky enough to be invited back again to watch the launch.

I have photos up on Facebook that you should be able to access.

Then today my hubby and I went to Wizard's Miami Comic Con and I got two tattoos. One is of an NES controller and the other, the Tardis from Doctor Who. I'll have photos up later.

It has been a crazy four days...from an almost no go at the launch, a flat tire this morning...so I'm a bit all over the place right now.

Seeing a launch live is AMAZING!!! The sound gets in your chest and stays there. This is something that I won't be forgetting any time soon.

I also have videos from both events that I'll post later. Bit busy right now with a leak in the apartment and a flat tire.

Here are two videos from other people.

We were there for the RSS retraction:
<object width="480" height="390"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OuYX05adDB0?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="390"></embed></object>

We were three miles away from the launch.
<object width="640" height="390"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/qd3cVkVx34k?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="390"></embed></object>

And this one is by me:
<object width="480" height="390"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/VODi-vtCZqQ?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="390"></embed></object>

Wow. I am envious. Seeing a launch certainly would be an experience to remember.

Also, that robot is cool!

Photos from the comic con: here.

Still haven't taken a photo of the two new tats yet. Might wait until there's no more blood nor cream/lotion on them.

I still need to get that Mega Man 8-bit sprite tattoo that I've been proclaiming I want for months now.

I'm getting a steady income now, so...I just might.

Man, I wish I was able to see the launch. I've seen one before but seeing as the shuttle is going to be retired, It sucks to miss it's last launch.

I've been considering a tattoo of either Terra from FF6 or a kitty. I'm scared as fuck to get one, though.

I'd put it in an easily hideable place, like my leg or upper arm, so it doesn't show during job interviews and the like

My only conundrum is what kind of a vertical flip I should have on the Mega Man sprite. I can't decide if I want to have it flipped right side up so when I bend my arm and look at it, it's right-side-up for me, or if I wanted it upside down so I can show it off right-side-up to other people.

I'm not worried about the pain or job interviews, since I don't suspect that it's going to be a very large tattoo.

Why would it matter? If you don't want to worry about that just get in on your chest/back.

Well I actually just want the thing on my arm. If I decide to get a bigger tattoo, I wanna have it on my chest/back area.

I also wouldn't mind getting a geek sleeve later. I'm a big fan of tattoos, but just haven't actually got any. It's gonna piss my grandmother off a lot, but...oh well!

It'd piss off my mom too. She's ridiculously conservative about appearance of people, like she's stuck in the 1970s in that regard and thinks that everyone with a tattoo or a navel piercing or whatever is a permanently unemployable outcast criminal, apparently

But I'm like "So what?" I don't have to tell her

isn't the 1970's the age of LSD, Hippies, and Weed?

Yeah, late 60s and on. The hippie culture has kind of gone a bit by the wayside, but the drugs are still bigger than ever!

Damned hippies introducing recreational drugs into mainstream culture. =/

Definitely wish I could have been there live for the launch! Sounds like you had a lot of fun. I've never been to a con before, though. Only tech conventions. I saw the picture of Ray Park, did you get to meet him or just see him at a booth? He and Ewan McGregor are two people I think would be awesome to meet.

Just saw Ray Park at a booth. Same for Adam West and Billy Dee Williams.

Here's another video of Robonaut. This was when we were all taking a group photo by the contdown clock and as Robonaut started to head our way, we started to chant:

Here is the video from my laptop taken of the actual launch. I left my laptop at the bleachers and left the video running. You can see me running to get closer, I'm in jeans and a black shirt.

The sound was amazing from the shuttle and it was so bright!!

<object width="480" height="390"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Ndu0ZjYx6-8?fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="390"></embed></object>

This next video is of the launch as well but taken with my small camera. As you can tell, I was paying more attention to watching the launch with my own eyes than watching it through a camera.

That's a pretty clear day for a launch. You got lucky with that.

It was 80% chance of great weather and then it went to 90%. It was a bit cloudy but once the time came closer the skies cleared.

Tat pictures will be taken Friday, so you have to wait. ;P

I've shown a few people at work and the first thing, "is that real?".
